Selling Baby Stuff

I've decided it's time to start working on selling my baby's stuff. We're not having another child. So this is it. Clothes, Car seats, breast pumps, baby monitor, etc.

Does anybody have experience selling things online, like eBay? Please share.

If you group a few items together that wouldn't sell by themselves it can help get some bids....But eBay is gonna take 9% of your total sale! And on top of that, you have to ship.

And on top of that PayPal is gonna take 4 or 5% of total sale.

Craigslist is where I got all my second hand stuff from. Ebay is only worth it if you have really expensive stuff- designer etc. If the things are nice, you might try consignemnet sales in your area, they tend to sell well and for good prices.

Nessa I sold Zaids clothes on Craigslist as a lot. All 8 garbage bags for 150$. I was surprised I got a call 2 hours after posting it and it was picked up 12 hours later. Craigslist is probably your best bet

Craigslist is fine. Depending on your metropolitan area, check for consignment stores that sell gently used baby stuff.

Also, if you plan to itemize your outgo-taxes for this year, consider straight-out donating it to ANY charity -- from Goodwill to Salvation Army to the church resale shops, and even to nonprofit women's shelters or to hospitals with nurseries or children's wards, si man. Or, watch the news to learn of families displaced by fires or floods, and give it to them, si man.

Here's another idea (Charles wont like this). Load up your husband with as much stuff that he can legally take to Brasil. And sell it all in Brasil. This is what my wife always tries to make me do .

you can always meet someone at a neutral location to conduct the transaction setup on craigslist (e.g. grocery store parking lot). isa has done this many times. it's public and people don't need to arrive at the house.

note: this all depends on the item for sale. the crib/ toddler beds and a few other big items people came to the house to retrieve.

some of the smaller "big ticket items" like the ameda breast pumps (we had two ) were sold on ebay at a very good price (we got what we paid for the pumps). the new owner just needed to purchase a hygien kit (we had to buy one when we purchased the pumps).

My bag used to be single and very small when I traveled to Brasil. Now I feel like a pack mule . Once we had to pack around 300 pampers (seemed like 1000) that my sister in law wanted us to bring to Salvador which eventually ended up in Germany. I had pampers on my carry on, my shoes, and in any location that we could stuff them.

Forgot to mention perhaps the most efficient method of all: network by asking around. Someone is either pregnant or just was, or knows someone who. Cheap and quick to do, si man.
