I got my 2ND NOTICE OF ACTION with Notice Date: May 27, 2011, that my petition has been approved. I called NVC today to follow up my case number and still not available or they haven't received my NOA2 per NVC representative. I called the (603)340-0700. I was advised to e-mail a copy of my NOA2 at nvcresearch@state.gov. Any idea how long it will generate a case number after this?

Another problem I have is I need to make changes on my wife full name.

When i filed I-130, I wrote

Family Name: GALANG First Name: MARIA Middle Name: DESAMIE

Maiden Name: BARCENAS

She just got her passport now and written on the passport

GALANG, MARIA DESAMIE BARCENAS (Family name: GALANG, First Name: MARIA DESAMIE Middle Name: BARCENAS

When i received my NOA 1 and NOA 2, It was written GALANG, MARIA D. only.

Is this going to be a problem? I talked to one of NVC represent and told me that I have to follow whatever her name on the passport. I also ask the NVC rep. if she could help me make some changes but because my case number is still not available, she can't do anything. I really don't know what to do next. Can someone give me advise what exactly to do? If someone can help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I understand your concern. The passport name is important, which is the reason why I-130 and G-325 are filled with the name in the passport. Since the passport is obtained now, you will have to explain to NVC regarding the difference in the name, as getting the name change in the passport takes more time. Hopefully someone who had previous experience like this will help you with his/ her experience in resolving this. But I don't think this should be a big issue as the change is from a intial to full name.

I thought so, too, that it should not be a problem. I'm really paranoid about this. Maiden name and middle name are same meaning in the Philippines, Here in the United States, there is Middle name and Maiden name.

I thought that having 2 names, I should separate the Maria Desamie and put the Maria to First Name and Desamie to Middle name. I was wrong. I can't wait to have my case number so i can request for adjustment. I really hoping that it's really a big issue. Anyway, Thanks for the input!

Hi! I had the same issue. Received my NOA2 on May 31. Called every single day and nothing.. until yesterday when they told the same thing. So, I sent my approval notice I received via e-mail and I got a reply today confirming that they received our case yesterday. I spoke with the operator and she said that case number should be generated in the next few days. We just have to keep calling until being able to get that info. Good luck to you on your NVC journey!!

I just got a reply today from my yesterday inquiry regarding my case number.

Unfortunately, until now, they still haven't received it from USCIS. I really have no idea why it takes forever for them to receive it. :(

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your

inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice.

Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petition

from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contact

USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition.

Sincerely,

Jess

Thanks!

Hi there! I have the same problem too for our NOA1, my fiance also wrote on his I-129 Form, Family Name: RIZALFirst Name : MARIA Middle : ANNIE which it should be Family Name : RIZAL, First Name : MARIA ANNIE, Middle: BONIFACIO so the name written in the NOA1 as beneficiary was RIZAL, MARIA only. and yep my full name is RIZAL, MARIA ANNIE BONIFACIO for my passport and all other documents. I wanna know if you were able to change the name of your wife. Please share us how did you do it if ever so we can also call or ask the USCIS to fix my name before we get the NOA2. Thank you and Good luck to you.

Hi! I have not been able to fix my problem until now. I'm still waiting for my case number. USCIS no longer have my files, they mailed it to NVC, but NVC still haven't received it and it's already been 19 days.

When i talked to one of NVC representative, she said that they have to follow whatever written on her passport. I hope you can fix yours as well. Goodluck!

Sincerely,

Jess
