nov 04 Went to interview by myself, told officer will aplly for vawa

11/04 I485 touched (still on initial review)

11/21 officer called lawyer about the I485 (btw: really nice IO)

12/10 apply for VAWA, without background check

12/11 lawyer drop off a copy of I360 for the IO

12/15 Prima faice received

12/18 sent background check, also sent a letter to IO asking to expedite the I485 to vermont to be linked with I360

12/31 I360 touched

08/04 Apply for EAD renew

08/18 receive NOA

08/26 new card ordered

To those ladies who are still married, how do you ensure that your GC come in your maiden name instead of married name? When i signed the VAWA i did it in my married name..Does that mean that ultimately that's the name im gonna have to stick to since i already started the process with it?

you need to send your devorce paper, i was married when i applied for vawa and i sent to VSC my divorce papers, anyway when you go at interview you need to show the divorce...

september 2010 - received prima facie

september 2010 -received work authorization without fingerprints

june 2011 - renewal prima facie

june 2011 - got RFE in the mail

july 2011 - applied for renewal I-765

august 2011 - sent respond to RFE

september 2011 - I765 approval never got it, uscis sent 2 times on wrong address

october 2011 - applied again for replacement work authorization

october 2011 - fingerprints done

november 2011- called uscis for renewal prima facie

november 2011 - got a letter I-765 moved to another office

december 2011 - called uscis regarding my prima facie, sent it to wrong address

december 23rd 2011 - got first transfer notice I-485 to NBC

january 11th 2012 - rceived the approval I-360...soo happy

january 17th 2012 - got second transfer notice email I-485 to local office

february 21th 2012 -i called uscis regarding my pending I 765, i did also service request

february 27th 2012 - got an email that they ask me for RFE in my case for I-765...omg

MARCH 1TH - gor the RFE about my I765, they ask me for 2 photos even i did my AOS 2 months ago

march 29 2012 - i got my inerview notice for april 11 and biometrics on april 6 ...soo happy

APRIL 11 2012 --- I485 APPROVED....YEEEEEEEE

Seems we applied right about the same time. Mine has been 16 months as well and I am still waiting for a decision. Returned an RFE in August and hoping to get a decision soon. Though I heard VAWA process usually averages out to 18 months, I hoping that it comes sooner and that the time spent in absolute uncertainty will be worth it.

I will let you know if I hear anything. I tried calling last week but couldn't get much info. I have decided to wait till the end of February but something tells me we will have a positive feedback before then. The wait time is draining both emotionally and psychologically, but I try everything in my power to stay positive and patient.

Like I said. you need to find out what is going on with your Prima Facie...

and my advice again. Its simple send a request for Prima Facie to VST.

I did send a letter to renew prima facie/notice to be re-sent

on 12/08/2011 and I received a extension of Prima Facie today with notice date 12/13/2011

so you can do the same and see what happens... but guess what, my case got no touch or update...
