They just told me ... Your case is initial review, nothing else...they do not have more inf.. they told me to service request and I did it but nothing happens.., just do not know what else to do.. I am thinking of hiring a lawyer .. I need to know what s going on .. Help

hire a lawyer is not gonna help you , i have a lawyer( is the 3th one), but is the some without, the only thing you can do is to wait, in the some time uscis they dont like to push them, i did long time ago service request and they said that i need to wait, because they have a lot of cases

august 2010 - filed I-360, I-485, I-765

september 2010 - received prima facie

september 2010 -received work authorization without fingerprints

june 2011 - renewal prima facie

june 2011 - got RFE in the mail

july 2011 - applied for renewal I-765

august 2011 - sent respond to RFE

september 2011 - I765 approval never got it, uscis sent 2 times on wrong address

october 2011 - applied again for replacement work authorization

october 2011 - fingerprints done

november 2011- called uscis for renewal prima facie

november 2011 - got a letter I-765 moved to another office

december 2011 - called uscis regarding my prima facie, sent it to wrong address

december 23rd 2011 - got first transfer notice I-485 to NBC

january 11th 2012 - rceived the approval I-360...soo happy

january 17th 2012 - got second transfer notice email I-485 to local office

february 21th 2012 -i called uscis regarding my pending I 765, i did also service request

february 27th 2012 - got an email that they ask me for RFE in my case for I-765...omg

MARCH 1TH - gor the RFE about my I765, they ask me for 2 photos even i did my AOS 2 months ago

march 29 2012 - i got my inerview notice for april 11 and biometrics on april 6 ...soo happy

APRIL 11 2012 --- I485 APPROVED....YEEEEEEEE

I also have a lawyer they don't even want to call them , so all we can do is wait and pray I was hoping that it will be over b4 the holiday but I guess not....

they dont want to call because they dont want to push them and lose the case, from my experience , we need to be patient and pray

there is not nothing wrong with your case... I guess!!!

I filed for I360 vawa last March 2011 still nothing yet.

just a receipt number and Prima facie of course...

I did a request for renewal Prima Facie and status of

my case this.. I did call before but nothing and also

I sent my first request In September, no answer:-(...that sucks!!!

but this time I will see what happens... Im confused and down...

hope God will help me on this one.

Hey Sissi,

In some cases USCIS does not issue prima facie... (it is unusual...) I'm not sure a lawyer would do much for you... You can try writing them a letter enquiring about your case... good luck!!

11/21 officer called lawyer about the I485 (btw: really nice IO)

12/10 apply for VAWA, without background check

12/11 lawyer drop off a copy of I360 for the IO

12/15 Prima faice received

12/18 sent background check, also sent a letter to IO asking to expedite the I485 to vermont to be linked with I360

12/31 I360 touched

08/04 Apply for EAD renew

08/18 receive NOA

08/26 new card ordered

08/31 new card ordered (again??)

I think they put VAWA cases in a box lock it and throw away the keys.....what else coils be taking them so long......

I'm 2 weeks away from a year!!! Guess I shoud celebrate?? :rofl: I never thought that my case was gonna take this long... :help: It is soooooo frustating!!! I do believe the VErmont service has been kind of slow for the past month... In aug/sep that was a lot of approvals... Let's all pray that they pick up the pace again and hopefully we hear something before the end of the year!!

You can see in my timeline that I have sent them a letter and they did "touch" my case after that...

Hi guys I never received prima facie my lawyer said it doesn't mean that I won't get approved then again I was working when I filed 13 Months ago ... So I'm hoping that's why my abuse took place in 07yeah I know it's been a while but I still manage to get most of what they required together . I did receive therapy in 07 and I filed base on that ....well now it's out of my hands.... So let's see what happens.

And I also filed I 485&765.....

VAWA does has a 2 year rule that I remember... But i think is that you have 2 years to apply for vawa after a divorce. I dont think it matters if the abuse was a while ago, as long as you were officially married and you applied before the 2 year deadline expired.... If you were not able to meet these requirements than that would explain not getting prima facie....

I filed in April of 2010, got a RFE a couple of months later, sent back all the required docs in Feb of 2011. In the entire time I never got a Prima Facie, all i got was a letter stating the i-360 was approved and a short while later interview date.

During this entire time my immigration counselor who works with the Catholic Charities told me that in his experience (and he had over 20 years) the typical VAWA application takes anything up to 18 months from when all documents have been submitted. This is regardless of what they have as a time frame on the website.

Also after we initially filed we got a letter with the RFE stating that processing would take longer than usual.

I am saying all this for those that have been waiting for a while, VAWA is a long process and there are limited IO's working at the unit at VSC. Be patient they will eventually get to your file.

That's is so sweet thanks for putting our minds at rest at least try to.... I stopped worrying a long time ago it just drains the life out of you I'm getting ready to renew my EAD do I have to renew it for my 11 year old too I mean he's not working .....
