Hello

everybody.i hope everything is gud despite u r all waiting for approval.it wil come.soon.ok today I had an email that says my i458 has been transfered to uscis office.and they did not tel me wether its vcs or I dont know.has any body been thru dis.or can any body help.

That is a good step forward. It means they transfer your case to your local office for interview. Now you should expect a letter in the mail for your interview, which is usually a month away from the date you get notice in the mail. So once you get that notice for interview know that you are a month away from being a Permanent Resident.

Stilhere am in maryland.@murid it did not say to the local office.this is what is says.

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

Local Offices are referred to USCIS office. Service Centers are Vermont, Texas, California etc. So when they say USCIS office it means your local office.

thank you guys for making a VAWA part 2!!! I'm still working out my declaration on my RFE for goodfaith of marriage. USCIS want's me to provide them that "we intended to establish a life together at the time of marriage" --- what is that mean??? My problem is we intended to get a joint account but they did not allow us because i don't have social security and a valid id... i cannot show them that we filed taxes together because im not eligible to file because again i don't have social security. in my opinion, my situation is very challenging for us to create a life together without ssn. Can uscis understand my situation?? what do you think guys?

To Yulisa-- Congratulations!!!!

Your last resort to proof that you intended to established life together would be:

In your own declaration explain in as much as possible what plans do you guys had for life as couples. How many kids had you plan to have? When things were normal what do you guys talk about as couple and what do each of you wanted to achieve in the future. If you have family members or friends who knew about your marriage, get an affidavit from them.

Explain to them your lack of joint account and joint properties and sometimes USCIS know is not about lack of ID or lack of Social Security number in most cases is about the USC Spouse being possessive and not involving you in their personal stuff.
