resignedtoinswhim I didn't explain very well, Let's me explain better. You can naturalize in Federal courts,State courts and local courts. You may check with the local courts in the appropriate area. USCIS keeps all naturalizations that occurred after September 26, 1906. If you file Foia( Freedom of Information Act)it will take several months, but you can find out if the individual became a U.S. citizen.

Thanks, one can file FOIA with any of the agency Federal, State, Local court and USCIS? or only with USCIS for naturalization records?

Hi Myjay, you are not the only one here, I first applied my VAWA on Jan22nd 2011, So far I wait for 19 months already, I married with US citizen for 3.3 years now, me and my wife have no kids, because she is drug addicted. I need first keep her alive, then think about our future kids someday.

Hi Memes: my answer to your question is your california service center should sent your I-130 and I-485 to VSC long before you first sent your VAWA to VSC. In my case, NBC sent my I-130 and I-485 to VSC on March 28th 2011 after I first mailed my VAWA to VSC on Jan22nd 2011. So far I am still hanging on my I-131 US travel document, which will have result maybe this month sometime, just hopefully.

anyway, waiting is permanent, approved is temporary, pain is forever, marriage with US citizen is happiness only a short period of time for those people who are on VAWA waiting lists.

God bless those people who are on VAWA waiting lists!

Thanks I think I'm just getting frustrated its one of my last hurdles. I wanna just be able to close this chapter in my life and move on. But you are right it will come soon we gotta have faith.

Bless you for your response :-)

When they transferred mine they said takes 10 to 14 days for interview schedule and transfer. But still waiting for interview. We emailed to confirmed they received it appears they got it couple days after request.

Your attorney should be able to email and confirm it was received.

Just from experience, I see that you are linking your old I-485 to your I-360. I try this but unsuccessful. I went to my interview (1-130) by myself and asked for my I-485 to be sent to Vermont Service, the officer did so. However, after my I-360 approval Vermont send my I-485 back to the local office. Yesterday I went to the Local office and they confirm that my file is there with a Supervisor for review, they contact the Supervisor and he told me that I will need to file a new I-485. Because there is no way they can schedule me for an interview based on my old I-485. I know other people who did it and were successful but it took them around 7 months to get an interview after I-360 approval. My advice if you have an I-360 pending file a new I-485 with Vermont to avoid the waste of time after I-36 approval. You don't have to pay the fee again you can request a fee waiver and they will mark it fee previous collected. Also with Medical exam you go back to the doctor and they will give you a copy of your medical exam that u did if it is less than one year.

Example: Sonia81 was on this forum she applied for a new I-485 got her interview a month after approval.

Found this old comment from June 2011, about USCIS sometimes having issues converting old I485.
