Are u sure??? Those couple weeks can take a year again. Have u notes that uscis/website just took out the vawa processing time??? I don't know ####### it's wrong!!! What about the reauthorization bill?

I know one member of this forum (who has same notice day as me) told me that he/she got RFE. So i assume that they are forking on 04/25/2011 (that is date of my notice). I don't have any news. :crying: As soon I get something I will post here.

Regarding reauthorization, bill passed Senate (I posted letter from my senator to me) and now is in the House of Representatives. I spoke with my Congresswoman and was told that Speaker of the House  did not schedule vote on it yet. When he will do that I don't know nether my Congresswoman. Probably will be before election in November. It will be big fight because some people don't like some clauses in proposed bill (VAWA to apply to gay couples). I hope that they won't use this bill for low hits in this election. :bonk:

What you can do and everybody on this forum and everybody who you know is to pick up phone (or write letter) to your Congress(wo)man and ask them (and even demand) to vote yeah (yes) on VAWA Reauthorization 2012.

As soon reauthorization will pass faster USCIS and VSC will make decision on all I-360 applications! :star:

Good luck and be patient, trust me I know how hard it is but don't go creasy. (It's what my psychiatrist told me) :bonk:

Regarding processing times. Don't worry it's probably typo. If you look under Texas Service Center they have I-360 under VAWA. Also if you look under My Case status and then pick I-360, VAWA, VSC you will see that as of 05/31/2012 it takes them 13.7 months (witch is not true, but is still there). Also I believe that from now on all service centers (Vermont, Texas, California and Nebraska) are working on VAWA. It should be faster now.

God Bless!

Little Info. VSC in May 2010 had 2868 pending cases (completed 995), in May 2011 they had 6732 (completed 623) and in May 2012 they had pending 9789 (completed 169 cases).

When they had a fourth of pending cases they where working six times faster then in 2012. That is scary!

WE NEED TO TELL TO THE CONGRESS :help: AND PASS REAUTHORIZATION OF VAWA ASAP!

Hello everyone long time no message :)

Wanted to give everyone an update, plus give some tips for newbies.

Well my case is still pending an interview date, it is now in NBC but turns out the I485 was not properly switched to I360 so I'm stuck waiting till they manually correct their error. From email transmissions I would say they are pretty backed up.

Wishing this will all soon be a distant memory for all of us, as well as blessings for our futures.

**Male VAWA Applicants**

IF possible attempt to get an attorney, male VAWA's are harder to "prove" (not as trust worthy to us). Just having an attorney take on your case shows a positive sign for USCIS.

**Choosing Attorney**

ASK Questions!!! I go back and read similar comments that attorneys made a mistake or do not know what they are doing. Do not be afraid to ask questions "have you handled VAWA cases before, how many?" and "how many successful?"

**USCIS Timelines**

One word... Bullshit! NO 2 cases are alike mine took 10 months to be approved with 1 RFE 5 months in, but others who applied around the same time are still pending and others approved before me. BE PREPARED TO WAIT, I know its not easy but we dont have much other choice.

**Transferring I130 to I360**

I had to switch my I130 to I1360; I was blessed that the attorney who handled my case had experience handling both VAWA and regular cases so was able to switch my I485. However, recently when checking on my cases NBC admitted they did not process it correctly (their error). If you had your case switched make sure you get someone competent to process this since it can seriously delay your case, also have your attorney check on your case.

**Manually Checking on Case Status (w/Attorney)**

I dont know how to check the case status on your own, but if you have an attorney USE IT! Attorneys have a special PHONE NUMBER and EMAIL to contact USCIS, most of the time they responded same day or within 1 business day. However, I would hate some random person to bug me at my job or keep bothering me so only do it when its been a long delay (in my cases 6 months post approval and no interview date).

**No Interview?**

In my case it was 6 months post approval and still no interview, attorney emailed USCIS and they manually transferred to NBC (takes 10-14 days for manual transfer). Still waiting for interview date, but hopefully soon.

I'm not an attorney, nor able to provide legal information. But just trying to help my brothers and sisters through the same struggle Im going thru.

My wife knew that I am depending on her in adjusting my status, so she decided to keep delaying any documents that can prove the marriage. So, all i have is the joint bank account. Other than that we lived with her parents and they paid our phone bill.

We had married for several months and she didn't file any immigration form yet.

We're divorced now.

so, what's should I put in my affidavit?

vawa you need to get more proof of a genuine relationship, just bank statement won't help you, how about join tax return? utilities bills?. Are you doing therapy? to prove mental abuse is not easy , and USCIS asks tons of proof regarding mental abuse, prepare yourself well.

hi fajrakatana: nice to meet you, I am scared now, VSC will let me know my vawa result in 14 days, which does drive me walking on the wall. I cannot sleep good, always have nightmares recently. seriously worried, indeed!

Hi sandranj: thanks for your help, if i have chance to meet GOD, I will ask lord does me a favor to let all the drug dealers in USA go to jails, then VSC will punish them by endless waiting. how is this idea? nothing offence to VSC, just show my hatery to those drug dealers in the state, who made my wife drug-addicted and no peace in my family.

I'm here on an F1 student visa so I dont have a SSN, so I cant do a join tax return and like i said, we lived with her parents so we didnt have to pay anything. And the main reason is she just want to control me and she knows that I need all the required documents joined together, so she keep avoiding and avoiding. And, I'm taking your advice so I've seen the therapy for the first session today. I'm planning to see the therapy couple more sesssion since my insurance is covered, after that should I explain her about VAWA?

hi liveurlife:

good luck on your RFE reply, sure you will get your vawa approved soon, trust me! I am in the same situation as you.

my RFE reply was arrived VSC on July 20th 2012, as you said VSC will make a decision 14days after receipt,so the deadline is on Augest 5th 2012, the day I will get my VAWA result.By the way I first applied my vawa on Jan 22th 2011.

I did not feel I got enough evidence either, all i got are joint bank account, joint tax return, joint lease and bills, joint land purchase document, one mental doctor's prescription drug report, one therapy's report, two US citizen's reference letters,non-crimial record from both Seattle and my own country, family pictures with my wife and her family memebers, christian marriage certificate, plus I still married with my wife for 3.3yrs who is drug addicted and her family members all knew it long before i married with her.

take care brothers and sisters, if i lost my vawa case, then prepare the other evidences which is different with mine. I will stay put in Auckland, help my wife immigrate to New Zealand. the worst thing is me and my wife will never get together in Seattle, also I cannot help my two younger sister-in-laws in Seattle which made me feel guilty. the best thing is we are still alive!
