when I called USCIS the lady told me (though she didn't sound too sure) and my lawyer also told me (though she also was not too sure).

well, I dont buy what your lawyer told you :no: and the customer service representative via USCIS was wrong. :o

dont get me wrong tho.I always do my homework and the next thing I will do after my Green Card. Its back to school to become a Lawyer :thumbs: . I guess It give to much TMI:huh:

Feb 18th 2011 - filed I360, I485 and I765

Feb 21st - receipt notice received

Feb 27th - prima facie received

March 18th - letter for biometrics appointment for April 15th

April 15th - biometrics appointment done

May 15th - EAD approved

May 20th - received EAD card

Sept 23rd - RFE received

Dec 14th - RFE response send

Feb 17th 2012 - filed for EAD renewal

Feb 23rd - received an email from USCIS: I360 APPROVED!!!

Feb 23rd - transferred my case to NBC

Feb 24th - receipt notice for EAD renewal

March 7th - RFE issued for EAD

March 13th - RFE response send

March 29th - EAD renewal approved

April 10th - received EAD card

Hi Hope,

Yes. EAD is a work permit for people who have a pending or approved application. USCIS doesn't mind issuing them because they get extra income and IF the application didn't go thru (knock on wood that doesn't happen) they can simply deacrivate it via the eVerify system.

From what my attorney said some ppl even apply for various status knowing they will get rejected simply to get EAD and SS#. That is one of the reasons VAWA apps get reviewed so maticulously.

If u are/were married to an LPR,u can still apply for EAD but you cannot apply for AOS until your VAWA has been approved.

Hopeful-2011,NBC is National Benefits Center,Lee Summit,MISSOURI.They help sort out cases that are ready for interview for USCIS & transfer to individual local offices for interview.

And the delay in VAWA units is not b/c VSC don't want to function, it is because the REPUBLICANS don't want to reauthorise the VAWA bill for 2012 which has slowed everything down drastically-the bill has been reauthorized in 2000 & 2005 ever since it was 1st signed into law in 1994-it is now up for reauthorization again.VSC needs the funds to function.It is now up to you guys to put pressure on your congress man or woman to support the reauthorization bill that is b/4 the house.One person cannot do it alone.It takes everyone to Fight this DO NOTHING congress-they are against everything that is good for the average guy.So pls,in order to keep VAWA alive, contact your congress person request they support this reauthorization bill & notify everyone u know to make a call or send email & even leave messages to request that the bill is supported by them.

The reauthorization was 1st introduced in Nov 2011,was voted upon in Feb(it received no republican vote) & has now been brought up again this week(3/15/12).Senator H. Reid has promised to get 60 co sponsors for the bill but that is still a long shot with this congress & might not be possible till Mid April.So, do your own part & make the call.If u call all the women u know, who will call all the women they know who will make a call to their congress person, u can turn this thg around or VAWA will die right b/4 our very own eyes.

Also, i think if u filed b/4 the bill expires,u should be alright but if u file after the bill expires, i don't think VSC will work on it until it is reauthorized.So help SAVE THE BILL.

I don't know if i posted this link well but it is a Dr Phil video in favor of the bill.You can send this to everyone u know(Men & Women alike) to convince them to make the call to their congress person to support the bill.

On a side note: Senators have stated VAWA is still funded till Sept. 30th and USCIS will still fund the pending applications (but slower). People should not worry about that if they already applied.

Currently they only need 1 MORE senator to help sponsor!! so please tell everyone to call/email/write in. Harry Reid stated he will place the VAWA for a revote possibly as early as next week.

Is it me or am mistaken uscis updated their website today and the processing time for vawa was actually pushed back. They were on may 2nd and now they updated to April 17. Seriously uscis I can't take this. Did anybody else notice.

Seriously, they making funny with us. They know that no one will call

or say amything.

It's not that. USCIS is causing delays, VAWA has not been reauthotized which means they are limited on funds.

We should be bugging our congressmen to renew it so our cases can be closed and new victims can get help.
