Hello everyone

I filed my VAWA case today (they should be receiving it). I'm just curious what their next move is going to be since I satisfied all the prerequisites (at least in my mind). I feel like they're going to send me a RFE but I can't imagine for what. I've read a lot of cases on here but only one person had a "smooth" processes. by smooth I mean no delays. :) Good luck to everyone applying! :thumbs:

tank you Hopeful-2011, my RFE not only faith marriage but also request for residence requirement , evidence of battery/ extreme cruelty. so these documents was one of documents , my lawyer said me do not worry we send enough document . by the way your opinion is resend again documents with RFE and Prima and cover tatter.is it right?

I would recommend that if you have send them enough information to cover the bases then don't take the trouble of resending the documents, unless you and your lawyer think it is super critical. It is better not to confuse USCIS officers by sending them multiple packages related to RFE unless definitely required.....but again....that's my two cents. I would highly encourage everyone else to share their opinions as well........

March 18th - letter for biometrics appointment for April 15th

April 15th - biometrics appointment done

May 15th - EAD approved

May 20th - received EAD card

hi Ladyg i went to see the att. and i dont blame you one bit for filing on your own he refused to give me copies of my receipt because they dont want me to see how much the pay to uscis for my son, but he did change the bal cause they realize that i am knowledgeable of the whole process so i want to tell everyone that is using an attorney be very careful and good luck to all.

Your son is the same age as mine.I only paid for i-485 for the 3 of us and my son's fee was $635 if I am not mistaken no more than $650.Did they give you your appointment notice for interview? Or is the lawyer planning to come with you to the interview ,if they are planning to come with you I would rather you go by yourself for they will charge you for going with you .Basically they dont ask you complicated questions at the interview so you dont need a lawyer to be present.All the best .

I agree with you. IF they think that you didn't send proper documentation they will send you another RFE.

Did you apply in August of 2010?

yes on august 25th 2010

august 2010 - filed I-360, I-485, I-765

september 2010 - received prima facie

september 2010 -received work authorization without fingerprints

june 2011 - renewal prima facie

june 2011 - got RFE in the mail

july 2011 - applied for renewal I-765

august 2011 - sent respond to RFE

september 2011 - I765 approval never got it, uscis sent 2 times on wrong address

october 2011 - applied again for replacement work authorization

october 2011 - fingerprints done

november 2011- called uscis for renewal prima facie

november 2011 - got a letter I-765 moved to another office

december 2011 - called uscis regarding my prima facie, sent it to wrong address

december 23rd 2011 - got first transfer notice I-485 to NBC

january 11th 2012 - rceived the approval I-360...soo happy

january 17th 2012 - got second transfer notice email I-485 to local office

february 21th 2012 -i called uscis regarding my pending I 765, i did also service request

february 27th 2012 - got an email that they ask me for RFE in my case for I-765...omg

MARCH 1TH - gor the RFE about my I765, they ask me for 2 photos even i did my AOS 2 months ago

march 29 2012 - i got my inerview notice for april 11 and biometrics on april 6 ...soo happy

APRIL 11 2012 --- I485 APPROVED....YEEEEEEEE

Dee, I think it is a good idea to confirm beforehand if they are going to charge you for the attorney to join you for the interview.......

Sir Charge, welcome to the forum! Good luck on your VAWA....if you just applied today, the next step is that you will receive a receipt notice from USCIS confirming that they have received your package. After that they will quickly screen your application and determine if you are eligible for a prima facie. If yes, then you will receive a prima facie to your case. If not, then you will receive a RFE. And after that the waiting game begins!!!! Hope this is helpful. God Bless........
