I'm with you, Dizzy. It says EVERYWHERE not to plan a wedding until visa is in hand. You can always be placed in AR or AP or whichever it is that takes up to a year for approval, we can get denied (lla y str!-- God forbid!)... there are all sorts of things that can happen. I've learned months ago that there is no such thing as "fair" when it comes to immigration visas... at least not reliably so. I think it's pretty normal for everyone to do what they have to for themselves to get through while following regulations and rules. If you need to fudge a wedding date to get an earlier interview... then by all means, do it.

I am grateful that we have a relatively decent interview date (in just a few weeks), but I had planned and made contingency plans for later. I am out a plane ticket, but since the whole process is thousands of dollars anyway (one translation of two documents cost us $300!!!!!)... I'm just taking it as an additional expense and sucking it up, so to speak.

But I love the support that the Decemberites have and show to one another! :)

Congrats Tara! :) Congrats to everyone on NOA2 and interview and POE dates!!! :) :) I can't wait to see WEDDING PICTURES!

k

Thank you!!!

Her interview was painless...only a few questions from each officer and no hastles with the birth certificate which I thought would be a problem. Hopefully POE will be 2-3 weeks.

If she knows the basic info about you, then she will do fine...just have her look over the I-129F package you sent and she'll sail by.

If you're like me, and I hope you're not...keep yourself busy and try not to think about it. :P That was my biggest problem...I would say I was more anxious about the interview than Chay.

Pre-Congratulations to your future APPROVAL!!!

Forgot to add that it would be good to do some mock interviews with her...there are several posts with questions asked at the interviews for different situations.

Thank you. We have been playing "lets pretend we are at the interview" for a while, and I think that has been very helpful, we stumbled across a couple things Jenie was confused about. I have actually been having some trouble sleeping but I know that is probably just normal stuff for this journey. I have taken a couple of vacation days lined up with the 4th of July holiday to go camping with my kids and some close friends. Just going to kick back, do some outdoor cooking, shooting, wilderness exploring etc.. What an odd feeling of helplessness this is...
