Congratulations on getting your marriage license!! Very happy for the both of you :)

I'm looking to see my fiancee 2 weeks from today, then take her home with me on Labor Day weekend :)

Oh yeah Bobby!!! That's a week from today, yes?! Looking forward to hearing about POE (where is hers at?)

Mari

YES! We got tickets and a POE date. :) I am so excited!!!!! I get to see my fiance over HERE next month! :):D

That IS some of the best news!! "Over HERE"... Girl, I bet you're all smiles!

Love ya,

Mari

PS: Did you get my email?

Getting things ready for my interview coming up (so soon!) and it says I need to bring my letter confirming the date and time of my interview... so far I haven't gotten any letter with the date on it, though I booked by email months ago! The mail is so slow here and the Montreal consulate is even slower, so I guess it could be that..

Otherwise I think everything is in order, I'm just very nervous that I'm going to forget something!

Happy Birthday Week!!!

Love ya,

Mari

To everyone still waiting to be with your loved one, still doing what needs to be done, going through this difficult visa journey process, let me tell you: It's worth it!!!!!!! Jenie Bee arrived Saturday Morning and life has been absolutely magical and spectacular! In fact words simply can not describe how this weekend has been. All doubts, worries and concerns brought on by time and distance, USCIS etc. melted away within minutes. Yep, I am on "cloud nine!"

Thanks for everyone's help, and Godspeed to the rest of the Decemberite Family!! Onward to AOS!!!

Lee

Um... excuse me... Rex.... lol but this does not mean you get to 'ditch us'. LOL just so you know.

LOL

Mari

My interview is on September 1st in Paris and I can't wait !!!

That's coming up Aleke! How you both doing? I haven't seen too many reviews on our thread (this one) for Paris, so I'm excited to hear how it goes!

So nice to here a happy ending to all of this. Your words and story are very encouraging. Enjoy your time together ;)

Will you be going there for the interview (for good moral support! lol), and they be flying back together? Your interview is coming up!!! Very excited for you both.

Mari

HI Christine,

Bring your packet 4 letter (it doesn't have your interview date) and your confirmation on booking your interview. I am also bringing a confirmation of the fee payment. The reviews seem to be that the interview in of itself is painless in comparison to the rest of what we did....I will soon find out on Aug 23rd!The other thing is if I had not called DOS to see if packet 3 had been sent I would still be waiting......never did receive packet 3 in the mail!

Lise

TWO more days till your interview Lise!!! Good luck sister!

Love,

Mari & K

I can't wait until I get to write a post like the one above

At least with the rest of the process, I knew how long each step should take and what to expect. This AP black hole sucks hiney.

On the plus side, I just got to spend 10 days with Dipu in India. It turns out a coworker took a vacation there at the same time and stayed in the same hotel, so Dipu and I had to hide the whole time (our works don't know we're in a relationship). Sounds sucky but now I know that I can spend 10 days in one room with my love and not go crazy, so yea for that! :D

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself!

Come out here and let's go crazy! LOL LOL LOL wooohooo!!!

love ya,

Mari

Thank you Mari :)

It's still 2 weeks from today :D I wish it was sooner :D

Her POE is San Francisco, right where you are :)

Yes, I'll be sure to tell you about our POE experience.

Have a great weekend!!

Bobby

Lise (and anyone else really) I'm worried I don't have the right printout for my confirmation of doing the DS 160 form online. Is there any way you can show me or describe to me what you guys have? Mine is just one page with my photo and a barcode and stuff on it.. hmmm..

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR APPROVAL GIRL!!! <3

Hi Christine + Blake, I'm not sure but I think you don't need Ds-160 only DS-156 and DS-156K.

check this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4230.html

''Visa applicants must submit a completed DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application for all nonimmigrant visa categories, except for applicants applying for K visas. K visa applicants must use Form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application.''

The Montreal Consulate information in the Canada portal of VJ says:

"Because Montreal requests the full DS-160 five page printout, MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE THE FORM IN INTERNET EXPLORER. Firefox does not currently print your form correctly at the end (it only prints three of the five pages); IE is known to print it correctly. (If other browsers are known to print it successfully, please update this. I have only tested those two.)

NOTE (as of April 8, 2009): Even though the new on-line DS-160 replaces the DS-156 form, the interview date letter (packet 4) stated to complete and bring 2 copies of the DS-156. At the interview, the agent confirmed this was still required and will collect it from you, even though the packet 3 checklist does not state it as a requirement. The embassy will hopefully correct this conflicting information soon. So be prepared to complete and bring 2 copies of the DS-156 form, just in case."

(bolding is mine)

I did the form and mailed in my stuff for packet three, so I assumed it was fine, but then I read this and mine is neither 3 pages nor 5! I can't ask the consulate because they only reply to emails and last time I tried that it took a month to get a reply. I'll try asking in the Canada portal
