Coming from Canada is a whole different story than flying across the pond both east and west :)

I managed to talk my fiancee (from China) into trying two large suitcases first, then get a third (at the most) if 2 is not enough :D

It costs US$70 for the second luggage on United. Even if cost is not a concern, I want to reduce our luggage handling at the POE. Dealing with customs and immigration is stressful enough, not to mention trying to catch a connecting flight all under 3 hours :)

Well, I can imagine getting through US customs at the Canadian border with a van full of stuff may not be fun either. Then again, we're only dealing with it once. It's going to be worth it!! :)

Wow I can't imagine putting my life into 3 suitcases! Glad I am in Canada making a land POE.

I have been making a detailed list, numbering my boxes for customs. Michael is coming to get me with a pull along trailer behind his truck. Christine, make a list of what is in the van (just in case) and you will be fine. The custom border guard told me to do this so that if they have any questions they would know where to look without going through everything.

I wish driving was an option for us.. we're flying with two suitcases and two dogs as our carry ons, so we don't even get the extra space with carry on bags since the dogs count for that. And thats for two people, not one!

We're getting rid of A LOT of stuff lol

Hey gang. Ola passed his CCNA certification exam today! I am so proud of him and all he is doing to be with me and to ensure we have a successful future together. I know he is sitting at the hotel preparing for bed before that early morning walk to stand in line for the interview. I pray that my next post is that he has been approved and we are one step closer to being together again for the first time since December 4th. Sending all my love and prayers to the Decemberite family. I'm thankful that Im not on this crazy journey alone or I'd really be a mess.

Hellooooo Decemberite Family!

Well, I have some great news today: K's father is out of the hospital and FINALLY HOME recovering. <sigh of relief> It was a rough past 2 months but we got through it and survived. Thank you to all who sent prayers and well wishes. It was a great support for us.

I'm going to Turkey next month. Now, all K has to do is get his wedding socks and we're moving forward ... full steam ahead!

I'll have more of an update later!

Love to you all,

Mari and Kadir

Mari that is fantastic news!!!

Blake is here with me right now, we are having a blast and have a super busy schedule. My birthday is this month so he got me a fancy new touch screen android cell phone to use when I come home to Atlanta :) He always found us a place to live and will be moving when he gets home.

My interview is coming up fast and I'm nervous! I keep having dreams that something has gone wrong or I made a mistake and they make me re-book a new appointment! D: I'm sure everything will be fine, I'm just a worrier.

HUGE congratulations to Ola and Nea!!!
