Hey everyone. I have not been on here in a while and it looks like everyone else has stayed away as well. Nothing on the baby front here :( but I am focusing on my new job and juggling being a mommy to a wonderful almost 5-year-old. hope all you other mommys are doing well.

How's everybody doing, little one is 6 months now. what kind of nipple do you use when you mix the cereal flakes with the formula in baby bottles, it seems he has a hard time sucking when it's mixed. so for now just going on formula until figuring this out, some folks said to wait a little bit longer before introducting formula but he's average weight.

Hi everyone! Glad to see some activity. It's been quiet!

@Nikita: rice cereal on the bottle did not work for us at all. I just mixed it on a bowl for Sebas and spoon fed him. It's actually good for them to start getting the feeling of being spoon fed as an introduction to solids and at 6 months is a great time to start doing that

Our family is doing great. I'm enjoying being a sahm. Sebas turned two on September, is talking up a storm and doing great with potty training...we are down to 2 diapers! (one for nap time and one at night). We also have some news...

.....

....

We are expecting baby #2!! Due on my birthday, May 28th (This actually makes me a little nervous...another gemini in the house!)

We are not saying anything yet until after our first docs appointment on the 20th (so FB Friends, I swear you to secrecy!). I'm actually a little paranoid because with Sebas I was very sick from week 6, had to be on Zofran + Vit B6 + preggy pops until week 12...and with this baby I have some queasy feelings here and there, but nothing bad. I can just take a sip of ginger ale and I'm good. I was feeling very tired the first few weeks but that's gone. Now I'm just very hungry all the time and craving a cheese burger :help:

So, I hope everything's ok with the baby and is just this pregnancy being different.

There's also the decision to make whether to go for a vbac or repeat csection...but I think for that we'll see how things are looking closer to the due date. If you remember, our birth with Sebas was a birthing center birth (midwife) that was just horrible all the way around. After the birth I didn't want anything to do with them. My current OB is the doctor that did my post partum, and has done my regular check ups since then. She's great and had two vbacs herself. The hospital where we'll deliver has a 14% csection rate which is pretty good, so I know this time our birth will be different :star:

Here's a picture of Sebas and I making apple pie today. He's the weirdest kid - he ate the apples but not the apple pie. He'll eat a whole thing of broccoli but could care less about cookies :luv:

Congratulations :dance::dance:

I have no experience with vbacs but i can say having a doctor you trust and like is much better, your experience will be alot easier when you make your choice. For me personally I would avoid the c-section, but you need to do what is right for you. Good luck and have a happy pregnancy.

Thanks! We are very excited. I'll update after our first appointment

JVKn congrats and I am hoping for another Messi ;)

hahaha no, we already have a future (better than) Messi. I want a girl this time!!!! :D

Thanks! It's a hard decision. I think at this point I'll try for a vbac if things are looking good (baby in the right position, actually drops at some point close to the due date...). I just don't want to try to birth an almost 10 pound posterior baby again  But we'll see how things plan out :star:

Wow 10 pound baby, I wouldn't want to try that either. I had 2 that were posterior but nowhere near 10 lbs. Lets hope for a little girl and a nice easy labour and delivery.

Caro, that is TOO exciting! How far along would that make you now? Sebas is getting so big! He sounds alot like Zaid. Zaid prefers apples and oranges over any sort of junk. We got lucky with some good eaters!!! Glad your morning sickness isnt that bad. Maybe having different symptoms indicates the opposite gender? I know mine were COMPLETELY 100% different! Best of luck at the doctor!

ran across this today - while putting some honey on my cereal, i noticed this:

WARNING: Do not feed honey to infants under 1 year of age.

i went to the sue bee website and found out why - never heard of this before, but passing on the info here.

Why shouldn't I feed honey to a child under 1 year old?

Infant Botulism is a rare but very serious disease affecting the nervous system of infants. Honey and other raw agricultural products may contain bacterial spores from Clostridium botulinum that could cause infant botulism. These bacterial spores are widely distributed in nature. They can be found in soil, dust, the air or raw agricultural products. Clostridium botulinum spores have been detected in corn syrup, honey, fresh and processed meats, fruits and vegetables. Scientists don't know why, but this disease has never been reported in an infant older than 11 months of age. The rate of disease is about 0.02 per 100,000 or 70 to 100 cases annually in the United States since first recognized in 1976. Most infants that develop infant botulism have not been exposed to honey.

Infants born prematurely and under one year of age are at highest risk because their underdeveloped digestive systems may not produce enough acid to destroy bacterial spores.

First appointment went great! Got our first U/S, baby is measuring right on track, Heart beat was 169 :)

I asked our OB lots of questions about vbac. I love that she gives me straight answers, none of that "you'll be fine" stuff.

I'm 8 weeks 6 days today!

I told Justin the other day that this baby is already far more easy going than Sebas, so maybe this will be "the good one"

Congrats on the pregnancy, Caro.

Am I the only one not having another one?

Thanks! I always knew I wanted 2 so this will be our last. I'm still nervous about how I'm going to handle two kids! Specially with Sebas having a very bad case of the terrible twos :)

Congrats on the pregnancy, Caro.

Am I the only one not having another one?

No. Condemned the baby factory in our house. That was 4.5? years ago now and still as thrilled as ever about it. Love my kid, but I am done, done, done with breeding.
