Uggh, I need to vent!

I had a doctors appointment today and it didn't go well. I am almost 37 weeks but when they measured my belly, it hasn't changed over the past two weeks. So today they did an Ultrasound and the baby is measuring just 34 weeks.

They don't know what is going on so for now they want to see me 2 times a week. On thursday for a non stress test and to check for dilation and effacement again and then next tuesday again for another ultrasound and another physical exam.

They are also considering sending me to a perinatologist and I was told I might have to be induced.

The only good news today was, that they said the amniotic fluid looked just fine.

I was told not to worry but I AM worried! I'd just like to know what is going on and honestly, if they told me on thursday they can induce me right away, I'd go for it!

Hang in there, Hon! :luv: :luv: :luv: Just give thanks where thanks is due and remember to strangle Hubby. :P

She has acid reflux

Glad your doing pretty good, the heat was hard on me thank goodness she was born in June. Breathing becomes more of a challenge with feet taking over that space lol

How on earth did I miss this? I trust that the family is doing well and I hope Alexis gets better soon. (F) (F) (F):luv::luv::luv:

Family is doing good, Alexis had her medicine changed to Prevacid and that has given her much more relief. I can actually put her to sleep in her bed now vs the swing. Now if she will just learn to fall asleep on her own.lol

Go to a peri immediately. They have high-tech ultrasound machines that can be much more accurate. also, they will have a better perspective on when to induce and such. Don't mess around with induction or early labor for nothing. Avoid it if ast all possible unless you or the baby are in serious danger.

I measured small with both babies and it's just how I grow them. I mean in my family the heaviest baby, born at 40 weeks + 2 days weighed a little over 3000g. My 39 weeker weighed 6lb 4.5oz. I had my ultrasound done at 38 weeks, my amniotic fluid levels were fine, baby looked good, just placenta was aging. We kept an eye on it but before the 2nd scheduled ultrasound could happen Eloise was born.

ran across this today - while putting some honey on my cereal, i noticed this:

WARNING: Do not feed honey to infants under 1 year of age.

i went to the sue bee website and found out why - never heard of this before, but passing on the info here.

Why shouldn't I feed honey to a child under 1 year old?

Infant Botulism is a rare but very serious disease affecting the nervous system of infants. Honey and other raw agricultural products may contain bacterial spores from Clostridium botulinum that could cause infant botulism. These bacterial spores are widely distributed in nature. They can be found in soil, dust, the air or raw agricultural products. Clostridium botulinum spores have been detected in corn syrup, honey, fresh and processed meats, fruits and vegetables. Scientists don't know why, but this disease has never been reported in an infant older than 11 months of age. The rate of disease is about 0.02 per 100,000 or 70 to 100 cases annually in the United States since first recognized in 1976. Most infants that develop infant botulism have not been exposed to honey.

Infants born prematurely and under one year of age are at highest risk because their underdeveloped digestive systems may not produce enough acid to destroy bacterial spores.

I hear about that after I had my first son. I told my mom about that and she couldn't believe it. She gave all of us kids honey before age 1 because she figured honey was healthier than refined sugar...

My docs always advised no honey until 2 even. That's what I do... I'm not a fan of honey anyways it's so sweet. I really try to stay for away from any kinds of sugary stuff in our house. ;)

Woot, woot, another Doc appointment for me today. The new u/s showed that the baby is still growing, thank God! He is still measuring almost two weeks behind and is pretty small for even that but healthy and the Doc said I won't need to be induced, in fact, the longer he waits to come out, the better. He would only induce at 40 weeks or if otherwise indicated.

I am really glad, I went in today with not a good feeling but I love getting good news:)
