My friend has a March 8, 2011 receipt date (N-400). What is the time frame for Atlanta filers? She is hoping to get an interview before her daughter's 18th birthday (August). Does the country of origin matter?

I'd suggest you take a look at some of the other timeline topics (March 2011 Files) to give you an idea of time frames. I have seem on some other posts that Atlanta right now is quite slow processing applications. I haven't seen any evidence that country of origin matters.

No, country of origin does not matter. Atlanta DO is one of the slowest processing centers due to sheer volume of N-400 applications. Currently they are sending out interview letters for Feb filers and their interviews will be in July. So yes, early March filers can't expect to have their interviews scheduled around August timeframe.

Hi Atul,

Guess what? My friend received a text message today.

Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview. You will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. You should receive this notice within 14 days. If you do not receive this notice within 14 days from June 23, 2011, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

I hope her interview/oath is before her daughter's 18th birthday (August).
