Hey Everyone!!

I received my NOA2 approval text/email on August 31st and the letter on Sept 3rd!!! Yay!! =) Now I have to wait about a month before NVC receives my file I heard, so will try to figure out the next steps in the meantime...

Hang in there guys! You guys will hear something any day now! =)

Congrats on the NOA2, plan on a month and change before the NVC assigns a case number. I received a case number 37 days after receiving my NOA2.

Our journey:

Spoiler

September 2007: Met online via social networking site (MySpace); began exchanging messages.
March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Hi guys, just back checking to see how everyone is holding up. I miss,my husband so much some days I don't know if I'm coming or going, and after awhile no one cares to hear you whine anymore. So i try hard to put on a happy face though I'm sad inside. I am getting discouraged I was initially happy that I was at csc because Vermont had the rep for being slower, well all I can say is karma is a ###### becuz vsc is ahead by a month and a half. I know it soon come, nut patience is not my strong point!

I dont think the timelines here are an exact science...after talking to a very nice agent at the USCIS NSC, there's a lot of factors involved in how fast the applications move; if the petitioner is/was in the military, or has any kind of involvement with the defense dept, they get priority 1A; anyone with and approved expedite request or any kind of humanitarian effort also get priority. Last, but not least of course it depends on the supervisors and the quotas they give to the staff. The lady I spoke with wouldn't say it, but she also hinted CSC gets a much larger load than VSC based on staffing, but overall they turn out similar dates/numbers.

6-18-11: Sent I-130s for Wife and Step-child

6-24-11: Received NOA1 via text & emails, file routed to CSC (Priority date 6-22-11)

6-27-11: File touched by USCIS (last update in their site)

6-27-11: Received NOA1 in mail

9-15-11: Received approval email notice

9-19-11: NVC Received my cases & got NOA2 hard copy.

10-7-11: Got case numbers from NVC

10-12-11: Got IIN and paid AOS Bill for wife's case

10-14-11: Sent AOS & Paid IV Bill for wife's case

10-19-11: Sent IV packet for wife & AOS for step-son's.

10-21-11: Paid IV Bill & Sent IV packet for step-son's.

10-26-11: Got RFE for Italian records.

11-21-11: Sent Italian records to NVC (took almost a month!!)

Hi All,

I am a June filer as well and have been waiting for NOA2 very patiently. Some time ago California Service Center was processing applications very fast but for the past 3 weeks or so they have become very slow and not processing alot of applications. Is it because it is end of fiscal year, I read it on forum somewhere that USCIS fiscal year ends in September. Is the quota up for this year? Any thoughts or info is appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure they process applications faster if the petitioner is/was in the military? My husband is currently in the military but getting out in October. Obviously, he is not getting deployed so we could not ask for an expedite. According to what you know, do you think there is a chance we could be getting priority 1A?

I have been a member of this site for a year and have never heard anything about priority 1A. As far as know you can only get an expedite for military if the USC is due to be deployed and if that isn't going to happen then you are in the same queue as everyone else.

I didn't mean they have such a thing as "Priority 1A"...that was me paraphrasing them. They did tell me normally they give military or defense dept staff the highest priority...sorry for the confusion. Now, mind the source; I've heard different things from different service agents in the NSC. And if I were you in your shoes, I would try anything that would help speed up the process; I know I have!

6-18-11: Sent I-130s for Wife and Step-child
