I never walked to or from school....was always at a babysitter or daycare. Once I was allowed to stay at home alone the routes to school were only high traffic. It was scary crossing the street to get to our mailbox during middle school!

I wasn't in a high traffic area but I was in suburbia. I cut through ravines and whatnot to get to school, sometimes I walked on the sidewalk or the side of the road.

Ya..that might be true. I'm not sure I'd let my 16 year old daughter walk a mile or two to school nowadays. Of course, now that I think about it, I don't think the idea of walking ANYWHERE would ever cross her mind either (e.g. spoiled)! :rofl:

Speaking of getting bit...I got bit by poison ivy over the weekend. I woke up Monday morning and looked like Rocky Balboa after taking a beating from Mr.T (O Noesssss!). I went to the doc on Tuesday morning and she's got me doped up on some steroids etc and the swelling is way down now :dance:

So, I am working from home this week instead of traveling...unexpected bonus! :lol:
