Dear Friends,

Long time no hear from lucas_34. It is with great pleasure to inform you that my wife is already in the USA with me as of last Thursday June 16, and, most importantly as a US Legal Permanent Resident. We are finally through this entire messy process. Awaiting green card in mail and her social as well (I only hope USCIS forwars it to Social Security - if we don't hear in 3 weeks max, we'll go there in person!).

All the best to everyone. We are done once and for all.

Cheers,

Lucas

Although I wasn't one of the refugees, I'm still here :)

hi there

we're still here (tsc refugees too) at the nvc stage too. we sent our i864 and iv packages off in early june and are still waiting - like you.

If you sent them off early June, you should be hearing soon from NVC. It's usually 2-3 weeks from sending out the packages.

Grats! kicking.gif I had to go to my local SSA officer after 3 weeks since my SSN never arrived. Hopefully you won't have to and your wife's SSN will arrive shortly. Good luck!

Hey all, so I just called the NVC and they told me my case was completed, but I MISSED their deadline in getting scheduled for July interview dates :crying:

The NVC operator told me to call back July 15th to see when (if) in August my wife's interview date was set.

I'm glad my case is complete, but so, so sad that I have to wait so much longer

Hi debz, sorry to see you're still waiting as well... our time WILL come :)

I am still here keeping my eye on the threads! I feel like the original CSC TO TSC TO NVC thread was my child and it just turned 18 so now I have to let it go lol...

 we all really have gone through so much #######...

Grats on your CC! kicking.gif You might not have to wait till July 15th to find out your date. Remember, they schedule all month long. You might find out in the next few weeks of your interview date.

Saylin, thanks SO MUCH for your reply- gives me a glimmer of hope.

Do you think I continue calling every other day in that case?

You know, you may not be a TSC refugee, but you sure as heck stuck with us and provided so much support.

Thank you.

And by the way, I STILL think you'd make a wonderful immigration attorney :)

Yup, keep calling every day! I continued calling daily even after my CC. And once I got my CC, I started calling DOS as well as NVC.

Haha, a lot of people tell me I should become an immigration attorney. Unfortunately, there's no where in this small town to get a degree/certificate/license, so I'm out of luck :( It would be so cool though as I've gained so much knowledge about this process.

Stupid question, maybe it's too late at night, but NVC isn't the same as DOS?

Nope. Two different numbers.

NVC - 603-334-0700 (press 1 then 5 to speak with an operator)

DOS - 202-663-1225 (press 1 then 0 to speak with a visa specialist)

I always learn something new from you. Clearly I've been out of the loop!! Do I call the DOS and simply ask them for my case status?

Hehe laughing.gif Yup, just call DOS and tell them you want to know if an interview date has been assigned for your case. They'll then ask for your case number. They might also ask either the petitioner's or the beneficiary's name (or both), but not always.
