Wasn't sure what forum to use... guess this one will do...:)

My fiance and I will be entering the states at Orlando Airport this thursday. Here are my questions...

1. what line do we stand in? U.S. Citizens or Visitors?

2. what documents do we need? (xrays? medical stuff? I-94?)

3. tips?

Any insight would be appreciate!

Congrats!

1. My fiancee entered through Orlando as well.. We went through the Citizens/Residents line but I was with her so I don't know if that made any difference.

2. She filled out the I-94, she needed her passport w/K-1 visa in it and the the sealed immigration envelop. We had the X-ray but they don't need (or want) it. Also, the Customs form will need to be filled out. She filled out her own, but the agent tore it up and added her to mine as a family of two. Again, I'm guessing, because we traveled together.

3. Make sure the the I-94 Departure info matches EXACTLY with what is written on the I-94 Arrival record (upper half, which CBP will keep.) My fiancee's I-94 Depature record had only her first name and first apellido while the arrival half had all four of her names on it. This caused many problems when attempting to get her SS Card and involved a return visit to CBP to get a corrected I-94 Departure record. That was my fault for telling her it wasn't necessary and (incorrectly) reasoned that she didn't need to complete the Departure Record half because she wasn't "departing" the U.S. until she had her Green Card. The CBP agent scribbled in the abbreviated name and we thought nothing of it until it caused problems.

You can use either line...but stay with your fiance, i.e. don't get into one line and her in another. We went through Orlando in October and it's not bad. Keep the medical documents sealed...as they will take them. Be patient as it took about 45 minutes for us to get through, for they'll make you go to a room off to the side. She will be questioned while you wait in the room. And they'll let you put your luggage outside on the other side of the glass. Congratulations!!!

I guess it all depends on who is working that day or how busy they are (i.e., space available). We brought our luggage to the side office. We left the carry-ons with her in the secondary waiting area while I went to retrieve the rest from the conveyor and bring it back. I wasn't comfortable leaving our checked bags unattended for an unknown amount of time in the conveyor area. Then, the officer called both of us into his office while he processed her paperwork. I don't remember exactly how long it was, but 30-45 minutes is a good estimate. As it was our final destination, it really didn't matter..

Good luck tomorrow!
