I wanted to start a thread to ask for those of you who have waited 3 weeks or more for an RFE response from VSC or CSC. What was your RFE for? And how many days/weeks have you been waiting since your service center acknowledged your response? Do you have a plan if/when you reach 60 days and haven't heard back?

VSC acknowledged that they received my RFE response on May 16. We got an RFE in the first place for missing a checkbox on page 3 of the I-129F form. It was the one asking if my fiance has ever been convicted of a violent crime. He has not. So of course in the response he checked No and sent it back to them. Over 30 days later and I am still waiting for word. Usually people get a response within 2-3 weeks. I've been waiting over 4 weeks with some people RFE'd after me being approved.

I realize missing that checkbox was a stupid mistake on our part and we know VSC technically has 60 days to say something. We also know that they could very well stay silent for the entire 60 days and it will be on our shoulders to figure out what to do after that. Has anyone ever waited the entire 60 days for an RFE with no word from their service center?

In the mean time, I also want to know if us missing this particular checkbox is a major issue instead of a minor one as I (possibly wrongly) perceived it to be? Has anyone also missed that box on their forms and how long did it take you to get your NOA2 or other response?

I got a FRE for the same thing. I had called everyday and got the same response, that I have to wait 60 days. One day I called I explained to the customer service rep when I initially filed and I need to put in a service request, and he did the service request (this was 5wks in my RFE). Exactly one week after putting in a service request we got approved. You just have to be persistent and prayerful. Good luck!!!!

Thanks, suzy-q. I tried calling them too and was told to wait the full 60 days first before I could put in a service request too. I have everything ready to go when July 18 hits. I have a feeling they will not put in a request for me because they have the RFE's time to fall back on and my case has not massively gone into overtime yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will have more luck. This is so frustrating because VSC was slow before in approvals and now they are slow in looking at RFEs. I tried to be patient before but now it just feels horrible. :-(
