It is hard to tell on VJ cause we are such a small percentage of the interviews actually performed.

I think it is somewhere around 1% of Cairo interviews are active VJ members with profiles. For the month of January there are 284 spouse interviews scheduled in Cairo and only 12 are from VJ that I know of....that is less than 0.5%

From what I see-----AP seems shorter with the wife present. I do not see any difference in approval or denial with american there.

Thanks for the information. I am contemplating going to Egypt for the interview. My thinking, if he goes into AP, atleast we had some time together to make it a little easier.

I know the talk around town of Egyptian men is that they think when the american wife comes then the interview is longer and harder.

But I do not think so. I seen men show up alone and get grilled and I seen couples go together and get grilled. I do believe that the CO is trained in body language and communication and I think they are pretty good as seeing when people are true. At least I hope they can see it!!!

I am sure he will do fine with or without you. But it is so nice to see them again!

Update: I sent an e-mail to the embassy yesterday asking about my husband's case. They responded that it was still being reviewed. So, I called this morning to see if it was still being reviewed, and the woman that answered responded that it was under AP. But, then, she took a look at it more closely and said, "Oh wait, that finished on January 5th and it is currently waiting for the visa to be printed." She also responded that the visa will be printed this week!! I am very excited and thank you all for your prayers and I contemplated on whether or not to call them since they responded to my e-mail. I really think it was great that I called the embassy to get that information. Again, I hope everyone get their spouses home this New Year. Thank you all again. I will keep you updated when he recieves his visa in hand.

He is in AP....

and she said she was not allowed in the interew. She said they are not allowing the spouse to be present at the interview now.

Does DHL call you before they deliver the visa?

How do you know it is coming to you?

Who can sign for the visa?

Can you pick up the visa at dhl yourself?

What are the sayings on the dhl website? Before they have the visa and when they will deliver the visa?

Once the visa is issued and the case is cleared, the passport and some papers are out of the embassy's hands and given to DHL. The day that your passport is given to DHL, it is updated on their website, Egypt time was like midnight and finally delivered at 2pm the next day. A few times a week they update on the DHL website (while the passport is with the embassy) saying "Scheduled for Delivery as agreed". but finally, when the embassy hands the passport to DHL, it says

DEPARTED THE FACILITY-

"Scheduled for delivery as agreed" means the passport is still at the embassy in Cairo, you will see this message for as long as embassy has it(if you are in AP, it will show up till AP is finished). Once it says "Departed the facility" then its being delivered to you and next day you should get it. The DHL # to call in Egypt is 20 233086330

Arrived at Sort Facility Cairo Egypt (it means its in DHL's possession)

Processed at Cairo Egypt

Departed Facility in Cairo Egypt (this means it left Garden City, Cairo)

Arrived at Delivery Facility in Cairo Egypt (this means it has arrived at whichever city delivers to the address..in our case Nasr City, Cairo)

With Delivery courier (this means it is out for delivery)

Signed by ______(this means VISA IN HAND!! woooohoooo)

Please note: the following persons may accompany a visa applicant during Consular-related visits:

•Special Needs Visitors: Applicants who have special needs due to a physical disability may be accompanied by ONE person. An adult may also be admitted if appearing on behalf of an applicant who is a minor child.

•Due to space limitations, only applicants with scheduled appointments for visa interviews will be allowed inside the waiting rooms. American Citizen immigrant visa petitioners and all other non-applicants must remain outside.

FOUND THIS ON EMBASSY WEBSITE. SPOUSE MUST WAIT OUTSIDE DUE TO SPACE BEING LIMITED

OMG-I have an email that states My daughter and I can come to the interview and they wrote we both can come in so I am bringing the email so I can enter. There is not even a decent cafe near the embassy to wait in??

Anyone have any ideas just in case they do not allow us in?
