I HAVE A QUESTION or more....

so please answer

Does DHL call you before they deliver the visa?

How do you know it is coming to you?

Who can sign for the visa?

Can you pick up the visa at dhl yourself?

What are the sayings on the dhl website? Before they have the visa and when they will deliver the visa?

ok I found one answer

Once the visa is issued and the case is cleared, the passport and some papers are out of the embassy's hands and given to DHL. The day that your passport is given to DHL, it is updated on their website, Egypt time was like midnight and finally delivered at 2pm the next day. A few times a week they update on the DHL website (while the passport is with the embassy) saying "Scheduled for Delivery as agreed". but finally, when the embassy hands the passport to DHL, it says

Arrived at Sort Facility Cairo Egypt (it means its in DHL's possession)

Processed at Cairo Egypt

Departed Facility in Cairo Egypt (this means it left Garden City, Cairo)

Arrived at Delivery Facility in Cairo Egypt (this means it has arrived at whichever city delivers to the address..in our case Nasr City, Cairo)

With Delivery courier (this means it is out for delivery)

Signed by ______(this means VISA IN HAND!! woooohoooo)

Regarding the DHL questions.

DHL doesn't call you before they deliver. If you so happen to email the embassy for an update and they have given the passport to DHL then they tell you that it is with DHL..but other than that, there is no way to know when the embassy has given the passport to DHL. I would strongly suggest to check on the website of DHL.com because it is the most honest information you will get through this whole process. If they don't have it, it will just say Scheduled for Delivery as agreed. When they have it, it will show different things but there is no way the website would lie to you because it is based on having the physical package with the DHL company.

I believe the only person that can sign for it is the beneficiary/immigrant...because it is their passport. I have sent things before by FedEx and my husbands mom signed it even though it was addressed to him. I think just somebody at the house has to sign it. They wouldn't give the package in somebody else's hands because they know that it is a HUGE liability and how big of a deal a package from any embassy is.
