NVC: Cairo Embassy IR-1/CR-1

Yea my information is correct. The embassy emailed me today that they are trying to issue visas as soon as possible and then will give the passports to DHL...and for me to check back next week. They have never told me to check back so that might mean that they will have them done next week?!!!! InshaAllah!

Ramy and Yosra did get their visa in 7 days

I tried to look at everyones posting to see what the embassy said to expect the visa to be delivered.

It looks like if they say 1-2 weeks.....it is not true. Please tell me if i have this correct and if the egyptian is a male or female if i wrote it wrong. Thank you

OMG!!! Then you will have to schedule your interview after your child is born.

I read the paper again and it says ALL people required to get xray. OMG they are terrible

Blood test and X-ray:

Children aged 2 to 14 are subject to tuberculin skin test. The blood test and X-ray are generally not required of persons under the age of 15, but they are required, under existing United States law, of all other persons. You must undergo the medical examination at least ten days prior to your scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays.

In the case of x-rays during pregnancy...The technician should be able to place a radiation proof vest or wrap around your stomach. This is a common procedure in the US, but who knows how they will handle it elsewhere.

Do you think it is too presumptuous to assume that if you finish at NVC in Decemeber, your interview may be scheduled for February? Any thoughts?

A guy named Stu-Mathews posted he had an interview in Cairo today and said it was easy 5-10 mins.

Does anyone know him? I never seen his name or any posts.

You expedited so it is possible you will get one soon.

For regular people I will just give my opinion that Cairo cannot keep up this pace too long. I think they will slow down again. Right now they have fiance interviews waiting 3 months. So, my guess is that in Feb they will try to book alot of fiance interviews and keep both fiances and spouses at a 2-3 month wait for all.

Here's an update. I called the embassy and they said that they received his papers and everythng is fine, he's just in administrative processing. They say that once that's finished he'll receive his visa. I really hope that doesn't take too long.

hope it doesn't take long for you guys.

Does anyone know if the Person who handled AP is the same as the person who interviews? Or is it just more of a background check by the consulate? Do people have to do anything or send paper work during AP? I tried asking the lawyer about it but all she said was "AP is a fancier word for consulate review" not sure what that even means or why it takes so long.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!!! My wife got her visa today!! I'm sooooooooooooooooo happy right now. She got it in only 10 days!
