i`d want to know when we start to call the hospitals to take medical appoinments and is it necessary to be with the letters or just by the e-mail? and i need the phone no.s of the hospitals in cairo thx alot

You have to look at the 5 page email they sent you and read it. The 2nd page of mine is blank. But this letter tells you what the embassy has and if they need you to bring any further documents.

Also it gives instructions of where to get medical and what to bring to the medical

Bring ID

passport

3 passport photos

MONEY

You can go to

Immigrantvisas.state.gov

and try to find it all or click the attachment I put here and it will tell you about the medical.

Good Luck

hi my friends,is anybody know a pregnant woman had her medical examination for the interview without the chest x-ray? as that may harm the fetus

The doctors have done this a million times. They would never allow a pregnant woman to do an xray.

i called the anglo american and they told me that x-ray must done Even if I'm pregnant, so plz if anyone know (women who were pregnant during the medical examination)tell me are they had the x-ray or not and where they do the examination

OMG!!! Then you will have to schedule your interview after your child is born.

I read the paper again and it says ALL people required to get xray. OMG they are terrible

Blood test and X-ray:

Children aged 2 to 14 are subject to tuberculin skin test. The blood test and X-ray are generally not required of persons under the age of 15, but they are required, under existing United States law, of all other persons. You must undergo the medical examination at least ten days prior to your scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays.

I think the 4 months AP is not accurate because it's around when the revolution happened and things shut down right? The rest give a good idea tho. You do a great job researching :)

The embassy site said they would still process visas as normal if people had their interview before they closed....so I am not sure but I think it is accurate.

i called the anglo american and they told me that x-ray must done Even if I'm pregnant, so plz if anyone know (women who were pregnant during the medical examination)tell me are they had the x-ray or not and where they do the examination

Maybe, you can get a note from your own doctor that refuses for you to get an xray?

I will be thinking about this one for awhile. I am a nurse in Illinois and forcing someone to get a xray or immunizations when pregnant is a bad practice.

I think you should post this in a thread alone so all people can respond from all countries and see what happened to them.

ooh! i have good news for bondokwkhokha....

OK, so you CAN get exempt from the chest xray alhamdulillah, you must show proof that you are pregnant. i was so happy to read this, I was worried for the baby or just you having to postpone your travels!! The last line!! :star:

If the applicant is pregnant must she have a chest x-ray?

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires that women who are pregnant and required to have a medical examination in connection with the issuance of a visa, and are examined in a country currently using the 2007 TB Technical Instructions must have a chest x-ray examination conducted. Pregnant women will have to provide the panel physician with consent to conduct the chest x-ray. For the health of the applicant and her unborn child, CDC instructs panel physicians and laboratories to provide abdominal and pelvic protection with double layer, wrap-around lead shields when they receive the chest radiographs. This requirement does not apply to countries using the 1991 TB Technical Instructions which allow for an exemption of the chest x-ray requirement for pregnant women. Pregnant applicants who do not wish to have the X-ray will be granted a temporary exemption when they provide written certification of pregnancy signed by their personal physician or obstetrician.

Hey everyone - it was a long process today, but thankfully approved. Questions were simple like what does he do, where does he live, last time you saw each other, when were you married, etc? Most important thing is to remain patient and nice with all the interviewers. Bring copy of your marriage certificate and they'll return the original to you. Besides that, the experience was pretty much along the exact same lines as those who've previously commented. They said visa should come within a week. Best of luck to everyone.
