Some threads are like watching an episode of House.

OP: I hope you understand how this all seems...because, as almost everyone else has pointed out. It doesn't seem right.

The story Beppo told about offering money for immigration was to illustrate to you that it does happen. They did not say that was your situation. You may not have money...but clearly you want to help your husband out. Even if you are not living as a married couple anymore. You want to make sure he can stay here. Not living together with no good reason to explain it makes that pretty obvious. To everyone here and to an immigration officer. You know that, that's why you posted the question here. People are suggesting that trying to figure out a way to hide this fact or explain it in a way that makes it seem plausible is the wrong way to be addressing this problem.

Best of luck

Your post is very offensive.

I knew him from his country and were close neighbors with my parents' house. We knew each other dating back to 1994 and became good friends. We then reunited when I happened to study and work in his town. Our parents and mine have absolutely no weight and influence in our decision to marry, but since I have no place to stay, I accepted to live with him.

Nothing else seemed to fit.

Very confusing.

Hi, my spouse and I are not living together currently. He is aware of my current address, and I still visit his address of residency. The AOS interview is in 27 days, so we should have enough time to sort this out. We've lived together for 5 years in his current address, but I moved out at the end of 2010.

My current driver's license address is not the same as his address. However, I have a previous driver's license that has not expired yet to his address, and we have proof that we lived in the same address. Will the USCIS know that I have another driver's license if I show them my old, but unexpired, driver's license?

hmmmmmmm

A lawyer will be glad to tell you what you want to hear for a "Fee". With that being said, when things don't happen the way he "explains" it to you, he will still go home and sleep in his bed at night with his bank account growing. You don't need a lawyer, you need to step outside of yourself and face reality. Reality check #1.. It sounds like you guys are just real good friends. No shame in that what so ever. However, USCIS is a bureau. They are not going to see it that way. You can try to all of a sudden change addresses and think that this will suffice. Reality check #2... They have access to all records from Credit reports, what addresses are filed with bills, banking records.. who spends what and where and even the times it was spent. Driver's License (it is a government agency) etc.... Don't think they just take what you say at face value...

Reality check #3... If USCIS even suspects fraud, well, then he can get a lifetime ban from US. There are legal ramifications at stake here... A little thing called "perjury".

You aren't going to get the quick and easy answer as what to do here on VJ because there is no quick and easy answer. You got an answer that you did not want to here, so then you want to go to a lawyer in hopes that he will tell you something different. If you are lucky, you will get a good and honest lawyer who will tell you basically the same thing you have heard here on this thread. By the way, make sure you go to an immigration lawyer and not just any lawyer. More than likely, the lawyer will be glad to take your money (as times are hard all over) and when things don't turn out the way you want them to, he will just claim what an injustice this is. But I bet he doesn't give you a refund.

Good luck with whatever path you decide to travel, but don't get upset with the responses posted here. While they may not be very eloquent, the bottom line is that most of the responses are very truthful and honest and somewhat an accurate reflection of how your case will be viewed. Meaning "Highly Suspicious"... Whether it truly is or isn't doesn't really matter. What really matters is how USCIS views your case. If it is real and honest, then you don't need to worry about a thing and just go in and tell them the truth just like you told it here.

But then you are worried about the truth or you wouldn't have asked about whether to lie and show them your old drivers license with your old address versus your current drivers license with your current address that proves you are not living together.

"I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
