How do I add my 16 year old daughter?

Hi,

I'll be submitting my N-400 for citizenship very soon. My daughter is 16, do I need to complete any other forms or is it best to have her listed on the N-400 with me to include her registration number and a copy of her greencard? I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that once I become a U.S. citizen, if she isn't over the age of 18 she will automatically become a U.S. citizen.

Also, my husband is in the U.S. Army National Guard, should I be filing with the Nebraska Service Center?

You don't add her. You just list her in the "children" section. They don't need her papers at this point.

Once you naturalize, you can apply for her certificate or passport or both.

Can only question why they want your list of kids or even why if they are eligible for citizenship, to attend the oath ceremony. End result is you only get your certificate that makes you eligible to file for citizenship for your eligible kids. Either with the US passport and/or the N-600. But the instructions state to list ALL of your kids, natural, step, or adopted.

Least with the I-751, you pay extra for the biometrics for your kids, and do get a ten year card for them. Don't get anything with the N-400, except you are now eligible to apply for them. That requires more forms, more evidence, and more money.
