So ummm... I had my biometrics on Aug 5, but I looked at the CRIS site and apparently it was last updated Jul 11... I'm confused!

yes, that is true. but it is safer to bring the said LPR's passport too just in case you meet some a**hole officer.

I had my brand new green card in married name, my British passport in maiden name, handed both i think over all he did was ask the obligatory questions on the way into Canada an didn't stamp my passport. guy on way out definitely had both all he did was peer in the car to see i was in there and asked us how much booze we had to declare and did we have any fruits or veggies...totally ignoring the pumpkin on the dashboard and let in... gave me no hassles in or out....don't know if the way in was lax because I had a UK passport or what. but on the way back surprised me much to my relief.

So ummm... I had my biometrics on Aug 5, but I looked at the CRIS site and apparently it was last updated Jul 11... I'm confused!

Our case was first updated on July 11. The second one was on the 20th. I had my biometrics done on July 25 and our status hasn't changed since.

(back story for those who have not been following the nail-bitingly exciting saga of a very routine reschedule):

i had to reschedule my lovely husband's original biometrics appointment because he is in the UK until the 15th. received 1st bio appt letter on 28 july for an appt on 9 august. sent reschedule request 29 july. and...

i got the 2nd biometrics letter today. woo. happy to report new appointment date is 24 august, just 2 short weeks after the original. very happy with the quick response, also 2 weeks, from USCIS. and we will be able to, if we are in the neighborhood, try an early walk-in. we are not in a terrible hurry, but our ASC is quite sleepy, so why not?

here is a photo of my squinting englishman, letter in hand, from our last visit to the saint albans, vermont ASC. so cooperative, he is.

the guard inside was nice and we talked to him about the fact that he commuted from new york state to come to work each day. he had to take a ferry to get there and back! yikes. i asked why he did it, and he said it was a good job (meaning it paid him better than he could earn in upstate new york. plus he can probably retire at 40.) he was very nice and so was the lady who fingerprinted jamie. i sat in the sunny waiting room and did about 5 clues of a crossword puzzle and then he was done. easy! then we went swimming. : )

so, feeling good. and obviously rambling on a bit with the relief that we can soon check biometrics off the to-do list.
