I'm not totally convinced about that. Take a closer look at the contributors list. It appears major corporations straddle the fence.

Major corporations will support the side that appears to be gaining power. They don't care who carries their water. Corporations are not persons - well, in the legal sense they are but they are not for they have no soul. Democrats and Republicans have been doing corporate business - varying degrees perhaps. For the unions, there's no support to be had from Republicans. None. Hence, they won't support them. Tough enough for them to fight for their survival, they're not about to dig their own grave.

See post #12. :star:

What I see..., Unions are loyal to Dem's and big business bets on the winners.

Exactly. What that shows is that there appears to be a bit of balance on the side of the Democrats who recognize that you need businesses in order to have a functioning economy. You need labor, too, however and need a bit of balance between the interests. Corporations can't survive without an adequate supply of labor and consumers and labor needs corporations. On the GOP side, it's more of a one-sided view. Trickle-down nonsense - make the fat fatter and some crumbs will fall from their plates for the rest of society to chew on. That ain't working because it's not balanced and hence not sustainable. We're living the proof of that right now.

Major corps have more $$$ to cover their #######, so they can afford to bet on more than one horse. I can't say I blame them. Money talks when it comes to politics. Money is always the bottom line.

Democrats aren't out to eliminate corporations. Republicans, on the other hand, are hell bent on snuffing out unions. That's why you have more balanced contributions on the corporate vs. the union side. Unions have money, too. But they're not going to take it to their executioner.
