Hi, my wife and I have our initial interview in three days and I was just curious as to whether this will be the one she can get a greencard issued? Or is this just a meet and greet thing? What can we expect in this interview? Thanks everyone!

this is THE interview and hopefully your only one (all say initial, however it is rare for another one to be scheduled - reserved for issue cases I suppose)

I am sure you know this is the interview where you have to prove validity of your relationship by way of evidences, and yes, typically if all goes well, your wife may receive her greencard. There are situations that can arise that may delay receiving it (FBI namecheck, RFE at interview, etc). Just read the other threads pertaining to going to an interview and prepare!

The AOS interview is one that is not to be taken lightly. You will need as much evidence with you showing a solid relationship, joint accounts, bills, wedding photos if you have...

Search this site for stories about AOS interviews.

Look at the reviews of the various USCIS field offices, search for the one in particular that you will be having your interview at.

Look at the list of questions, this will give you an idea of what they can and will ask.

They can even separate the two of you and interview separately, looking for different stories in an attempt to determine whether or not the marriage is legitimate.

Be very prepared!

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyne for the information you provided. My wife got her greencard today and there are no words to say the relief and happiness we feel. It was much easier than we expected, very few questions and just showed some bills and our lease agreement and my tax returns. They didnt even want to see any pictures of us. We were prepared with everything we could think of and more and it seemed like he cut the interview short and just said I'm going to stamp your visa approved today and your card will be in the mail!!!! Thanks again for everyones support and advice here. Such a great resource for immigration informtion. Good luck to you all!
