Hi... so I am just wondering what exactly does biometrics involve?

Is it something I can go ahead and do now or do I have to wait for a letter from UCIS before I can walk in or make an appointment?

WHERE would I do this? I am in AK (near Fairbanks).

Will I have to wait on results and then send them in or is it an automatic thing?

Thanks,

M

08/05/11 - still no word on EAD - no RFE, no NOA... Wondering if this is something to worry about?!

Biometrics is you eye colour, hieght wieght.

as k1, its part of your medical.

with AOS, once you pay the fee, and they recieve it and cash it. You will get a letter stating to have your biometrics done ... just eyes, hieght, wieght, maybe hair colour, maybe tatoos .. definetly finger prints .. just things like that.

you can read my timeline to give you an idea

You will be sent a biometrics appointment letter. It will let you know the date and time, and which USCIS location your appointment will be at. You will need to bring that letter and your passport with you.

You will fill out a short form when you get there, and have your photo taken and be fingerprinted.

Yeah, unfortunately, it looks like Anchorage is the only one for Alaska. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.summary&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO&OfficeLocator.statecode=AK

I know how you feel. Our local office is 5 hours away. Both times we went, we just got a hotel room and made it a private, nice, get-away night for us.
