the sample of the ds230 coversheet has this case number,

MNL2006123456 CR1

how do i know if i will put cr1 or ir1 on mine? i know about the dates and times that determine if u r cr1 or ir1, but how can anybody know ahead of time, since it is based on the date of entry at the poe, nobody can know how long it will take to have their case done and visa in hand, so how do you know if u will put cr1 or ir1? thx, bernie

CR-1 as at this stage if you are married less then two years that is what is applicable. If by interview you have been married the two years or more, you will be granted the appropriate visa. If by entry at POE you have been married the two years or more, you will be granted the appropriate immigrant status.
