POE not final destination

Please share opinions on how much time is reasonable to leave between the 2 connecting flights if POE is not the immigrant's final destination. Does it depend on the airport or visa type? Or the mood of the officer

I noticed you're from Ireland.. Why not POE in Dublin? Then, wherever the flight first arrives in the US will be considered a domestic flight arrival.

If pre-clearing isn't an option, it depends on the airport. Atlanta I would not book a flight without a 3 hour (at least) layover

In that case, definitely, more time is better. Especially since the gate for second leg of the flight is likely to be a good distance away from the international arrivals gate.

I worried about this as well. I just made it easy for both of us and said I would pick her up in Chicago. The last thing we both needed is for her to get stuck somewhere in a totally new country. There is always the worry that there will be an issue with the wait time for immigration lines and she misses her connecting flight.

Plus she can see all of the wonderful scenery on the way home to Ohio...lots and lots of soybean farms. LOL!

Most likely it will always be at a different terminal that you will have to haul #### for.

What are you options for POE is what he is asking. There are lots of airports that you can come to for POE. What are YOU thinking in terms of your flight itinerary/plan?

Chicago(ORD), JFK and Philly(PHL) are the options.

Chicago and JFK I have been to as a USC. In line and stamped within 20 minutes. Both JFK and O'Hare you will have to travel quite a distance to your next flight (domestic).

Philly, never been there for POE.
