Hi...

My husband is a teacher and as of June 1 he is technically unemployed. Given that we are just now filing for AOS/EAD/AP we will have to change the i-864 form that we had started to fill out. We really want to get this paperwork sent out ASAP. I am sure his parents would be willing to act as a sponsor... should we get them to complete the paperwork now, OR send in what we have now and have paperwork ready for them as co-sponsors should we get and RFE? Hope that makes sense?!

FYI: my husband is a widower with three kids so we are a family of five. He does receive death benefits and we have very little debt which we can eliminate entirely within the month. He is looking for work but it is unlikely it will be as a teacher.

thanks,

M

Having a co-sponsor lined up is a good idea. Have you totalled up his benefits? It's unlikely with three minor kids, but he may make enough between unemployment and other benefits.

hey... thanks for the reply.

We are totaling things up again this afternoon and will send it in as is, but will have his parents lined up as co-sponsors should we get an RFE.
