I have question here, the Fx number is only for Mexican? In the 2010 IV waiting list report,Mexico case is 163436(45.3% of the world),much more than other country,Within FY2010 Mexico cut-off dates almost 2 yrs behind the worldwide till April,2010.And now Mexico almost catch up with worldwide, only remain one month.WHY?WHY?If FX is for all country not for only Mexico,I think 2009/2010filer will be current in 2 yrs...

There is really no outright answer because priority dates movement right now is very unpredictable. I would dare to say between 2.5 to 4 yrs. My daughter could have made it in 2 yrs if not for the retrogression. But I'm very hopeful she could make it in 3 yrs.

i guess ppl realize that america is not what they thought it was...economy..jobs...

I came up with below; might not be good... but had an initial stab. Please correct/modify as needed and let me know next steps if I can be of help.

The very important part of family union is being hit for green card spouses with the long waits. The wait time to process legal residence paperwork for spouses and minor children of Green Card holders is nearly 4 years. During this time, there are very few options for family to be together as spouse or child cannot enter US on any visa that does not allow for immigrant intent, essentially making spouses ineligible to visit US on temporary visas. At the same time, Permenant residents are not allowed to leave America for extended period of times.

Having spouses join back in US with green card counterparts with shorter time periods also adds and spurs economy growth, as spouses would be able to work and contribute in taxes.

Permanent Residents can leave the US for as long as they want, they are not confined to the US.

Generally up to 6 months and they can even keep their status.

There is nothing banning family members from applying for non immigrant visa's or if eligible using the VWP or of from Canada just seeking entry.

yep ...you are right ..they are not stoping us to reunite out of usa ...but frind we are not demanding reunite but we re demanding th full use of our f2a quota...they are ust using max 60% of our visas and it ends up in long waiting times...do ou believe in may years they have just used 30% of available f2a visas....strange

I have no idea about the number usage, but it does strike me as slightly odd that someone residing in the US and not willing to leave (probably to go home) would marry someone who needed a visa knowing the wait to be together.

i agree with you my friend...but an you give the reply why they are using less than 30% visa and resulting 70% visa lapses.....we are fighting for this unjustice to us....we are not concerned with wating times ...let it be 10 years or 20 years but atleast allocate the full visas ....and if you want to visis the DOS published data, this is the link...
