Just a poll... anyone recently get an interview date from Vancouver? What was your waiting time from the day you sent the checklist to the date of the interview?

Do they usually grant your "preferred" interview date? And was the visa given the same day?

I just want to know if I should expect to stay in Vancouver for 2-3 days to wait for the visa.

I faxed my Packet 3 checklist to Vancouver Consulate on May 9 and I had my Interview on June 9 ... So it was about 4 weeks from when I faxed in my checklist to Interview date ...

I never asked for a preferred day so I don't know if they would grant you one ...

And my appointment was for 10:00am and I was finished just before lunch and was told to return at 2:00pm that day to get my passport back with the K-1 Visa in it ...

So basically your complete by 2:15pm on the same day as your interview ...

I faxed my checklist to Vancouver the 10th of Aug. on the 11th i emailed them to confirm they got it and mentioned my medical was booked for Sept.6th in Vancouver .. and requested an interview near the end of Sept.( because i thought i had to wait a few weeks after the medical ) they emailed me back within the hour and offered me the interview on Sept. 7th so i could do both with one trip. I emailed them and said i wanted the interview date and they sent a confirmation email. The appointment letter came in the mail about a week later. I think unless they are booked up the day you want they are pretty flexible with interviews so just email and ask. The visa was issued the same day ... :star:

I faxed my sheet in and I got my interview within one week.. although I applied for an expedite since i'm pregnant. I GO ON FRIDAY!! WISH ME LUCK!! I'm nervous and scared and excited!!!

Good luck, you'll do great!!

I just received notice via email that my interview is scheduled for Sept. 27th - only 20 days after I sent in package 3! Yikes, lots to do before then. They didn't really look at the choices that I wrote down on the checklist for possible dates for interview because they were into October, they instead just gave me an interview for the 27th. But, just get er done I guess!!

We faxed our checklist back and received the interview date in a day or so. We asked for a specific date for one month from when we faxed everything back and received the date we requested.

Now we are waiting for Calgary doctor's office to get their butt in gear and send us the medical information.

If you are trying to get a immigration medical appointment and Calgary can't get it done in time you might be able to schedule one in Vancouver the day before your interview at the consulate ... I noticed your interview is on a thursday ...

The doctor in Vancouver only does medicals on Wednesdays and usually only takes about a week to schedule one ... As long as there are no problems you will get the results the same day ... I had to come back the following wednesday as I needed to get some additional info from my family doctor to satisfy the immigration doctor ...
