So, I've emailed the embassy about 6 times...I can't get through on the phone, and my beloved DOS staff is now useless...our interview is July 1, we need to get the medical done (and can't without the appointment letter)...someone tell me what to do, please.

We are having the exact same problem. We have sent several e-mails to the embassy without a response. We recieved notice that they sent out packet 4 along with the appointmant letter on May 24th, we have still not recieved it. We also have to complete the medical and cannot do so until we get the letter. Our interview is on June 30th. I finally called the US State Department Visa Services, and the lady (who was very friendly) basically told me that is how the Jamaican mail works and that even if we dont recieve the letter we should still go to the interview, and then we will have to wait to obtain the medical approval which essentialy is just going to postpone everything. She told me there was no way to obtain a copy of the letter except from the embassy, but I have requested a copy be e-mailed three times now and haven't been able to get one. It is frusttrating because they supposidly mailed us our packet over three weeks ago. We have gotten mail from each other internationaly quicker than this. I am also upset about it because we have all the other paperwork ready to go. All we need is the medical. Feel like I am trapped. The only thing I can say is it is just a set back and try to keep a positive attitude. Seems like we are not going to get approved on the 30th no matter how prepared we have been on our end, all because the mail service couldn't get us a packet in less than 3 weeks. I am so sorry to hear that you are in the same predicament that we are. If I find out anything I will for sure let you know. In the mean time just plan on going to your interview and hope that your paqcket surfaces any day now, along with ours.

Hey you two. I can't tell you anything but I do hope you hear something soon. Have you emailed both addresses? Have you tried calling? - I know this may be useless.

Good luck.

Call and make the appt, the medical clinic can call and verify the interview date. Try asking the embassy to email a copy of the interiew date letter, how were you informed of the interview date?

I'm so glad they'll be able to schedule regardless. Some days it feels like JA embassy is setting u up for failure. Stay encouraged muffins! I know u r torn between keeping on emailing for fear of feeling like ur pestering them and this will in turn delay ur requests...but my advice is be polite in all these emails u gotta keep firing off. Best wishes!!

Hi All! Andrews Memorial allowed us to schedule the medical -- they asked that Brownie bring the email confirmation and the case number!!!! Thank you God! Its a good thing I left the NOA2 with him, so that can be his back up.

Thanks again everyone for the recommendations and encouragement!

Cheers,

Nat

I had the same exact issue with the US Embassy in JA. My fiance was told that packet 3 was sent on May 16 and didnt receive it until Jun 13. Packet 4 was mailed on June 6 and he received it on June 13th too. How can he end up getting both the same day! There must have been a hold up with their mailing system. All last week we were e-mailing the Embassy with no response too! We were getting very worried because his interview is on July 5 and he is in the same position needing the medical appointment. Thank the Heavenly Father that the mail came through on the 13th. I also noticed that when I was emailing that I was not getting the confirmation e-mail that I normally get when I send an email to the Embassy saying that they have receieved my email and will respond within 3-5 business days. So something could be up with their email system as well.

I hope that the mail is just delayed and you will get your documents soon! Keep pryaing and keep your faith.

Ja's mailing system is VERY slow. Sometimes the Embassy DO mail things out but the mail personnel couldn't care less about your troubles and do all sorts of things with the mail. That's why they advised to do choice of agent is simply for the mail to expedite the process.

You will get through in time I hope. Try Andrews and see if you get through with them with your NOA2 and NVC case #. ALl the best.
