Jan 7,2008 Got married in Zaio
Mar 2,2008 Got my Moroccan residency
Oct 23,2008 Direct Consular filed at consulate
Oct 31,2008 Got interview call for Dec 22nd
Nov 11,2008 Medical exam done
Dec 22,2008 Interview and got approved
Dec 23,2008 Visa issued, thanks to God
Jan 20,2009 Flew home to Texas.

WOO HOOOOOO!

I am so happy! Words cannot begin to describe!

She had her embassy interview last night. The interviewer spoke only English, so my wife spoke to him in English. They asked some very basic questions (How did we meet, if she has talked to my family, my mother's name, etc.) and did ask us about the tourist visa we tried to get last year. She was honest and said that we did not know what to do back at the time. The interview was very brief (less than 10 minutes!). The interview was very impressed with her English, and asked her where she learned it from. She told him from an early age, but talking to me everyday for 2 years for hours a day has helped a lot!

He wrote in big words "APPROVED" on her visa application, and gave us the 2nd best piece of news that her visa will be done by this week or Monday at the latest! So I called the airline and made the change so my wonderful wife will be here in Colorado next Wednesday! I can't wait!

I hope the visa is issued in a timely fashion so the flight can work out accordingly. I was reluctant to buy the ticket until I had the passport with the visa on hand... There have been times that delays or spelling errors make it so that the visa issuance takes a few weeks rather than a few days. I hope this is not the case for your wife.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

I am so glad to hear that you were approved! Seems as though your wife had a pretty easy interview. I hope that ours is quick and easy too! Looks like you did not go to her interview??? I was debating not going if possible as the plane ticket costs are killing me :blink:

May I ask how long it took from the time the embassy received your paperwork until the interview date? I know there are not very many that get processed in Tbilisi so I am hoping that it would be only 2-4 weeks??

Also, did they ask to see a lot of your paperwork? I hate to lug in a huge binder/box of stuff if I am not going to need it. Not to mention paying to ship it all back to the USA lol.

Wishing your wife safe travels to the USA! Maybe we will cross each other in the air as I am headed there on Tuesday!!! Yay kachapuri!!!!!
