Hi,

My wife came to the US on a K-1 Visa on October 13, 2010 and we were married within the 90 day period. I didn't realize that we should have gotten her a Social Security within weeks of her arrival and we didn't do it. Now the date written on the entry stamp of her I-94 is Jan 11, 2011, and we haven't applied for her SS# yet. Have I screwed up big time, what should I do now? Thanks for any help.

We also applied for her AOS a couple of weeks ago, so do I need to wait until that is approved to apply for the SS#, again thanks a lot.

With her I94 expired you can not get one until her AOS is done and she has a GC. But if you need it for tax reasons you can always amend your taxes maybe get a few dollars back also.

OK thanks a lot, I was about to go to the SS office so you saved me a terribly disappointing day. Thanks again!
