Jackie,

DOS can probably give you a (202) area code number to call for the embassy in Jordan.

A couple of years ago when the embassy called me, it was from a (202) area code. When I called the number back, I got a person at the embassy...but was never able to get past them. They told me that I'd have to wait for the next call from the CO.

Anyway, I had to call DOS the other day. The lady offered me the number for the embassy, but I didn't take it because of my previous experience trying to call there.

Long story short...call DOS and get a number that you call with the (202) area code.

and here is the info from the embassy website...
