So, WHY do I send I-129F copy to fiancee?

I see the guide says to send a copy of the I-129F package to my fiancee. But, why exactly? Can I just send her the files that I printed and have her print them from there? Or, is someone going to ask for them and require that there be original signatures on the forms from me? (in which case I'd have to print them myself, resign them and send them over.) I'm trying to understand the point of all this so that I know what I really should be sending, or sharing the files, etc. Surely I don't need to send a copy of her passport photo back to her in all this. I can mail the photos to her though that show us together, plus a bunch extra.

It's for a couple of reasons: so that she can know, see, study, and have everything that has been filed; and so that she can readily pull out any paper that the consul might ask for (notwithstanding that the consul should have everything -- it's possible that something got lost). I made sure that the future Mrs. T-B. had everything, si man.

I think it's mainly so your fiancée can know exactly what you wrote on all the forms. In our case, the interviewer asked my fiancé detailed questions about things I had written in our "explanation of meeting" section of the I-129F. Luckily, he knew exactly what I had written so he was prepared for that line of questioning.

It's a backup. In case you lose your own copies or USCIS/NVC/the embassy gets them misplaced. I have duplicates of everything both on a password protected memory key and in paper form. Aything you provide to officials I'd suggest you keep copies of. The immigration part isn't done until either becoming a citizen or abandoning US and sometimes later on it's just neat to know precisely what you have submitted.

Sending copies to your fiancé makes sure she has her own complete file.
