frustration with AP

I just wanted to voice my frustration with this whole process. Like almost everyone else my fiance and I have been apart for a while, which always makes it hard. But what makes AP so bad is that he had to fly to another country for his visa interview and has to fly back again when AP is finished. There is no embassy in Comoros so he has to fly to Madagascar and tickets can be 700 or 800 sometimes and to then think we have to pay close to 1000 to go to Madagascar essentially for a less than one hour meeting to get a visa placed in his passport just makes me want to cry. Anyone else feeling my pain?

That's a lot of money... but the pain will go away once he has the visa. Keep telling yourselves this.

Must he return in person? Is there another option, such as a reliable courier service that could deliver the passport to him? Or (and forgive my ignorance) does he need the passport to travel from the islands to Madagascar?

I'm hoping it ends soon. I tried asking if there were other options as the state department uses DHL and there is DHL in Comoros and because the embassy said he would just be getting the visa put in his passport. They said unfortunately that he must show up on person. And yes he does have to get a visa to madagascar which is also expensive. Missing him and the financial strain on both os us is really making it hard, nakes us wonder whether it would have been simpler to relocate to another african country
