Create a family business, she does the labor you do the invoicing on your ss#. Sell something, she can buy the inventory, market it online and you can have it pay into your pay pal.

He said legal.... at that point she is an employee. She must either be paid a wage or she is part of a "hand-shake" partnership and is still considered to be working whether the company is actually making money or not

Who is gonna tell the government if she babysits the girl next door??? You think USCIS has agents following the immigrants around seeing if they go and work somewhere lol.

It's not the point. It's against Visa Journey policy to suggest things like that. If not against it doesn't contribute to what OP asked; a legal way to earn money before EAD and will just confuse people searching for info and only reading "yes she can babysit".

Who's gonna tell? Nobody. But you do swear under oath to be a lawful permanent resident. Why break that promise even before becoming one?

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

There is good advice and bad advice here. When you Filed your K-1 you accepted the Terms and Rules of USCIS. A Violation of such terms is Deportation Proceedings. It is NOT Legal to work PERIOD without proper status approved by USCIS.

IN ADDITION: Are you saying that Kristine will not "Stand Out" like a soar thumb on a Lawnmower. Neighbors watch and maybe they don't like you. Does Kristine know how to mow a lawn? If she accepts compensation it is a VIOLATION and if your turned in. Deportation time for something so simple. What if she gets hurt cutting the neighbors yard? Are you going to ask your Co-Sponsor to the bill and/or The Homeowners Insurance to do so. Any type of Compensation to the beneficiary for work/services to me is Illegal.

Moreover, babysitting for a fee. Babysitting maybe simple, but, what if something happens while babysitting for an infant, toddler or child and Emergency Services are required. This will be Documented. Also, Child Care is a WRITE OFF for Taxes for parents. (paid by check) and generally fulltime.

In both Cases: Kristine will stand out. Would you take that risk.

So don't let your Fiancee work at all for compensation unless you want to be made an Example of by USCIS. You agreed to it with USCIS.

again, the OP said "legal" and people are just pointing out that the suggestions don't meet the definitions of legal. All you need is one irritated busy body anti-immigrant neighbor to report this and in the part of the country where I live, there are a lot of people who would do just that.

Incorrect, OWNER of the company, not employee. Owners do not have to take salary ..

As long as taxes are paid on sales , this should not be an issue.

Is there any way at all for Mare to get a job when she gets back to the US with me? Is there any legal way she can do like freelance or something or small jobs babysitting anything like that but legally?

Is there any way that she can get some sort of temporary work permit while she is waiting for the AOS and/or EAD?

She cannot. However, you can use this time to get started on getting the first baby on the way! ;) This is what we planned to do. :)

This is a problem... This is absolutely not worth it to take such risk. Currently AOS takes only 2-3 months. What's the point?? What kind of advice is that??

Just slightly off the topic: this is a problem - too many people are allowed to work illegally here.. Root of illegal immigration problem...

Greetings to all:

Abi and I went to the immigration office here in Phoenix and asked them directly what she can do to earn money while we waited for her EAD. We were told that she can work with me, in my home repair business. Also, although she had to fill out a 1099, she can legally volunteer for medical drug trials. The compensation does not fall under the definition of formal work, and we claimed her compensation on our taxes without fear.

Hope this helps.

INCORRECT. A Beneficiary has No Legal Substance to be a Owner of a Company whether Taxes are paid or not in the US. ONLY a Fool or a Desparate Petitioner would take this chance without Approval.

What is wrong with your thinking. I OWN THE COMPANY AND MY FIANCEE WORKS FOR FREE. OH "Please" Will that Fly with USCIS. NOT.
