Guys, could you explain this to me in more detail please?

My Oath is on Wednesday. I actually planned to apply for Emergency Passport application through Boston Passport agency since I have to go oversees in less than 2 weeks.

Are you saying this can't be done??

What do we need to do with SS? Go there and change status or what? Where can I read about this?

It can be done! As long as you have some evidence showing travel within 2 weeks of natz then they will process it. Just to be safe, you can call them and verify - you may even be able to schedule an appointment.

You need to update your status with SSA - that's all and it can be done later

One more question :)

I was out of the country for 4 days between my interview and my Oath tomorrow. Should I write the number of days on the back of the blue form or just check that I took a trip abroad?

How do they handle people like me at the Oath Ceremony?

Nervous!

From what I heard is that you should not fill out the back of the oath letter until you are there. However, you will need to check that you have traveled and I don't remember if there was space on the document for writing down additional notes. I am curious though about the "blue form". I received a regular white sheet of paper with oath information written on it. Do you have something different?

wrong thread.... This is the JUNE filer's thread. Your husband is August.

You can post an individual question that will get some attention by others.

but to answer your q - ceremony dates are not published and usually are not public knowledge. It is difficult to know when the next ceremony is unless some other member is going to the same oath or the IO informs the interviewee.

Yes

I have a blue Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony (Form N-445) with the date and all the ceremony details on the front and 8 questions on the back of it (including the one about travel)

It says that I should bring this letter "completed in its entirety"

I have the same letter, the only thing different is its white and not blue. I am not sure if I should worry or not blink.gif

Mine was white, too, so relax

Boston_Girl, I filled mine out in the car in the INS parking lot. You have to hand it in to them filled out entirely, but they don't take it away from you at the door. At my ceremony they gave everyone time to fill the letters out or check and correct them. Also, if you can avoid driving yourself to the ceremony - do. The officer at my oath said they've seen a lot of cases when a person is so excited or anxious they speed and get a ticket on the way to the oath. You don't want that. Bad.

I'm still worried what they gonna do with those of us who went on a trip abroad

Bringing my passport and tickets with me just in case I have to prove the dates.

WOW! Thanks! That's a relief.

The only reason I said to fill it out there is JustBob once mentioned a comment that made me think. His comment was not to fill it out since you don't know what happens on your way to your oath, you can get a citation and then you need to change it and it can get messy tongue.gif

Put the dates in on the back of the letter, that's it. They don't look at the passports. If fact, they specifically mentioned, Don't bring your foreign passports to the desk, we don't want to look at them.
