N-400 JUNE 2011 FILERS

I did try to call, and the person I talked to just read the same info that they have posted on their website. Then I called a week later, and the lady said I should have received the letter, but it was too early for her to put a request to have it sent to me again. I'm going to call back on Monday, and see what can be done.... so tired of dealing with uscis, urgh!!

If you got a recommendation for approval on the day of your interview, I am guessing the RFE noted in the status website is just a glitch. But I also read some cases that got RFE even after approval.

The IO told me that it can take 2-3 months to get my oath ceremony scheduled. After my interview (to which I got an approval), I didn't have any changes on my status online until 3 days that indicates I was placed in queue for oath scheduling.

That INFOPASS appointment is weird. I didn't know they can call you about your case status

RFE stands for Request For Evidence. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm going to try and call them again on Monday, and see if I can talk to a level 2 person.

Note sure what is RFE. I had my interview in San Fran in Aug, was recommended for approval and asked to have my oath scheduled in Sep (based on what I know about oath schedule at Paramount Theater Oakland). The oath letter somehow never arrive, a week before Sep, I called USCIS (could not work out how to check status online and info pass seemed too long winded and useless), got the good old run around but persisted eventually got through to level 2 officer (after 3 attempts), confirmed my oath date was on Sep 7 and was told oath letter is not required to attend the ceremony (note : expect a final run around on site without the letter though).

From my own experience at least, I think it is worthwhile to call USCIS. However, be prepared to develop a strategy to get through the endless rounds of run around when you call. When you eventually get through to a level 2 person (who is just as likely to dish out run around like a level 1), you can find out the actual status of your case.

Give USCIS a call if you are anxious about your case. The run around is unpleasant, but this may be a strategy USCIS relies on to ensure its line is not overloaded by casual callers (although I personally believe there are better, efficient ways to handle overloading concern and improve customer service experience as in private sector : just think about service level and efficiency of USPS vs UPS or FedEx; USPS is facing insolvency while its private sector peers are thriving and customers willingly pay more for same kind of services !)

Hi... Can I get our timeline updated? Our re-scheduled interview is 10/24/11 @8:20am. Thank you USCIS, once again, they have kept my daughter and my application status together. We are both to appear at the same time - does this mean we will meet with the interviewer together? We came here when she was 5, she would have no clue about the information in her application - I'll have to give her a copy to review it.

I am starting to feel depressed my status hasn't changed at all.. Last update was 7/26 when i was placed in line for interview scheduling.. I guess NY office is quite busy.. Happy for people who got their appts. already. Goodluck everybody!

Don't worry. Yours should be very soon. My DO is NYC as well and was placed in line for interview scheduling on 07/12 and got my interview letter 09/15. So, yours will come any time now. Good luck to you.

We are on the same boat, my last updated was on July 19 (in line for interview), received yellow letter on Sep 1(asking me to bring my diver license to the interview. No sign of interview letter yet.

When did you get the status change? If it is within a certain time period, you can call and place a service request and have them mail you again the FP letter. Some people skip it and go straight to the interview letter....

I do not see your information in the list - it is difficult to tell where you stand other than the fact that I am assuming you applied in June....

My priority date is 6/22...I did my fingerprint 8 weeks ago...called them a couple times to ask why am I not at least placed in line for interview schedule and was told to wait...

I was told in my latest conversation with them that they have 5 months to process the application. I asked the lady if 5 months means from start to finish (oath and receive naturalization certificate)? She couldn't give me a straight answer!

Both USCIS and FBI told me that my FP have been cleared...

So my wife received her passport today!!! We're very excited about that, but also a bit puzzled ... When we check our USCIS case status, it still shows "Scheduled for interview."

This is odd...

I wouldn't worry too much about the online status. Your wife is a USC and she can prove it! That's what matters now!

Thanks!! I'm really thinking that citizenship status updates are handled differently than the rest of the process.
