Today I received the yellow letter requesting to bring with me my passports...

Sweet... some movement....

Like I said to some, it seems like the Yellow Letter is some kind of consolation, letting you know that despite the long wait, you are not forgotten. :whistle: May you finally get the dates!

Question-

Before receiving the interview letter, we received a yellow letter requesting us to bring the old passport. Now the questions is "the old passport has been cancelled since new passport is issued and the old one is back in India or here, we don't know. The new passport contains the old passport number and besides that it says "cancelled and returned." So when asked for old passport by not having it with us will it create any problem ? What do we do in this case ??" Please provide any insight...

Just out of curiosity - are you receiving these because you signed up on uscis.gov online case tracking or is it to do with the G-1145? Since AOS and ROC did not have such "luxuries", I am baffled by

You can register on uscis.gov and they will send you emails telling you where they are in the process. We got an email saying they had mailed a biometrics notice so I knew it would be coming soon!

How come they ask for your country's passports? They don't cancel them right??

It seems like we received similar requests!

The way I look at it is I cannot show them what I don't have, since my old passport has been returned to my government. Therefore, I believe that they will understand that. My feeling is they only ask this to verify travel dates - we are legal residents and passports are not required to live and obtain citizenship here.

No - USCIS doesn't take them away or cancel them... from what I heard is they want to look at them to verify travel.

How come they ask for your country's passports? They don't cancel them right??
