Judging by the reasons they gave you, it sounds like it may have been passed along but someone forgot to update the online portion maybe? I don't get why they won't just tell you! 5 different answers is a bit much!

I called the FBI and was told that my fingerprint results were sent back to USCIS the same day I did it. I assumed that it was fine but both the FBI and USCIS refused to let me know if it was cleared. I'd imagine if there was a hit they would go through more digging, or if it was rejected I'd know by now.

I didn't think it's name check because it only took me 7 weeks during I-485 from the time I dropped it off at the post office and received my green card. This suggested to me my name check was cleared quite rapidly, I didn't change my name or committed any crime through the years. Perhaps it's payback time now I have to wait extra long for N-400 since my I-485 was so fast.

When I called USCIS (multiple times), I've got different answers including: 1. my file has already been forwarded to my local office; 2. my file is in transit; 3. my file is still in NBC; 4. it's still early we are not going to do anything; 5. it's in line but we don't have a date yet

The most convincing answer I got was when a lady picked up the phone and I told her my situation, she immediately said to me don't believe what the online status says. However, when she tried to look it up on the computer the systems crashed and when I called back another person picked up he was grumpy and almost yelled at me for calling.

That's why I am so nervous. Waiting with reasons is fine but if they made a mistakes I'd be so mad. Why can't they tell us? It affects our lives and well being.

I have even received the yellow letter more than a month ago!

I feel for you. I've spent ages waiting for my I-485 to get approved. When I finally sued them, it turned out that they just misplaced my case somehow. And I've received all kinds of different answers when I called them millions of times.

I wish that wasn't happening now.

It's a shame that they have all the IT tools but fail to utilize them.

That sucks you had to go so far as to sue them :-(

Nope, it specifically says "This is not an interview notice".

It just says to bring my DL to my interview. When I asked the customer service if I should be at least in the schedule stage to receive this letter, they said no. But based on what I've seen in other people's timelines in this forum and other forums, rarely do people receive the yellow letter so early.

A notice that they canceled your second interview?? Or just another copy of the first cancellation?

Called the FBI again, this time specially asked if my fingerprints were readable and successfully processed. I was told yes, everything was good. At least one sure thing to check off.

Maybe someone committed a crime in my name now I'm stuck in name check, but my understanding is that even criminals will be scheduled for interview they will just be denied after the interview.
