Just out of curiosity - are you receiving these because you signed up on uscis.gov online case tracking or is it to do with the G-1145? Since AOS and ROC did not have such "luxuries", I am baffled by

You can register on uscis.gov and they will send you emails telling you where they are in the process. We got an email saying they had mailed a biometrics notice so I knew it would be coming soon!

Are you going to try to go to your appointment early? I know lots of people have done it, but I would hate for my husband to go and they turn him away because it's not his scheduled appt day!

I received a text message on Friday saying that they sent my appointment letter for my biometrics. I received it today. It was schedule for 08/02, but I'm going tomorrow to try and get it done.

Are you going to try to go to your appointment early? I know lots of people have done it, but I would hate for my husband to go and they turn him away because it's not his scheduled appt day!

Yes, i'm probably going to try on Friday when i'm off work. Luckily its not too far away in case they do turn me away. Fingers crossed. Good luck if yous decide to go early.

After you guys are naturalized, has anyone talked about moving back to your home country with your family for a few years? We have discussed this a bit, but weren't sure how to go about it. If you are a citizen of the US, I imagine you can just move as a US citizen would. But because husband and kids (by birth) are Australian, it's no issue for them to go back to Australia? They are still Australian citizens. I'm the only one that would need a visa. Immigration is so confusing!

That's one of the perks of becoming a citizen which is the ability to travel abroad without feeling the pressure of maintaining trips under 6 months, etc etc etc...

For others, being a US citizen grants easy travel to many countries without the hassle of obtaining visas beforehand...

I wish i found this site in 2006 - 2008 when i had to go through my "immigration nightmare" because the K1 visa number in my passport wasn't my A#

The IO at the embassy wanted to make sure that i understand " you have to use only the info shown in your passport when you apply for AOS".

This "mix up" created a 2 - 2 1/2 yrs delay due to "pending background checks" between Jul. 2006 and Dec. 2008!

But anyhow...
