Thanks for the advice. I had heard that St. Luke's would reschedule the interview, but if I can go ahead and do it earlier, I'm all for that.

It appears that St. Lukes has changed their policy. There have been a number of posts lately about St. Lukes no longer being responsible for rescheduling the interview after the eight-week culture. A number of posters who recently went through the eight-week culture have reported that they rescheduled their interview themselves.

If this is the case, I would take the advice of the poster above who recommended rescheduling the interview before you get the results of the eight-week culture, so that the interview can take place shortly after the results of the culture are known. It would save time, and that's a good thing because, as we all know, the waiting is h*ll.

Good luck with St. Lukes :) My wife got a false positive from her local doctor and we were scared to death before her medical. Thank god the quack got it wrong but I know the feeling. Even in the "worst case", it's just a short delay in comparison to a lifetime good.gif

Thanks for the info. I believe she's scheduled to go back on the 27th for the 3 day procedure. Your post really helps because I really don't know anything about this.

The real disappointing part for me is that now she'll be getting here when I go back to work, not while I'm on vacation, so this will make the adjustment more difficult. She'll have so many days now of just sitting at home while I'm at work, I just really feel bad about that part. But, there's really nothing that can be done except make the most of the situation.

hi i just had my medical and i undergo sputum too.. this crashed my heart btu i have to go on.. i will have my sputum on 28th of june...

Mine was completely opposite. :P I had my advanced medical also at St. Paul's. But apparently, our doctor screwed us up! :bonk:

My 3 smear tests went negative (PRAISE GOD!!) but still have to wait for the sputum culture result on August. whistling.gif Anyways, only six weeks to go until my culture result. How was your fiancee's smear test result?

I agree with this post.. I also already scheduled my interview. St Lukes won't be responsible to re-schedule our interview date unlike the previous cases. My fiance want me to be interviewed as soon as possible.I assume if we wait until my sputum result (which is 2nd week of August) before i set an interview schedule, we might get September as an interview date. So, i scheduled mine the day after my sputum culture result. In that case we wont have to go through another wait. God Bless to all of us :)

Thats a great news!! good.gif at the same time, this is really frustrating...If we are negative in smear test why still wait for 8 weeks culture result which is 99% sure that the result will be negative or i suggest atleast lessen the wait. 2 months delay and another wait is such a longggggg time.headbonk.gif My fiance and I really miss each other terribly, i know thats exactly how you feel too..Its really hard but we will get through this... whistling.gif

Well, we just had our medical and now we get the two month delay for the sputum test. :ranting: I know a lot of others have had this same thing happen to them and now we're joining the club. By the way, does our club have a secret handshake?

Oh well, nothing we can do except keep on keeping on.

You could of done a pre sputum test....................

We had the sputum culture too. They gave us a date and number to call for the results. We called a day ahead since she hadn't heard anything back yet and it was going to be negative. We went online and scheduled ourselves and got an interview for 4 weeks later. Not really sure if we saved any time but it did take alot of the anticipation/stress out of it by scheduling ourselves. Hope this helps!!

I'm pretty sure you can schedule after your interview date set by NVC has been passed due to the sputum culture wait time. St. Luke's will void the original interview that was set up. Personally if you have passed your interview date and it's been at least 30 days into the culture and you haven't heard anything, I'd venture to say it would be safe to schedule past your culture results date by maybe a week so St. Luke's can get the info to the Embassy.

I called St.Lukes today to see if my results are ready... The person I talked to asked for my name then he looked it up and say PLEASE COME HERE TOMORROW AND BRING YOUR PASSPPORT and receipt. Is this mean I pass the sputum culture? My due is actually July 25 but the last time I was there they said the culture will be finished on July 21 but just to be sure call on July 25. Anyway I got to excited so I called in today. Hopefully it will turn out okay!

Is this good or Bad?

We originally had an interview scheduled for July 14, but had to cancel it due to the dreaded sputum test. The smear results were all negative, but we have to wait until September 5 for the culture results.

I called the appointment service to try and get an interview date for mid september, but they said September appointments are not yet available. They also told me that even when September appointments become available they cannot schedule one for us until my fiancee receives her medical clearance.

Has anyone been successful in getting an appointment made while waiting for the culture results? I have emailed the embassy for assistance and am considering going to my Senator for help as well.

Have you tried scheduling online instead of talking to a person? People are so seldom helpful.

St. Luke's will reschedule the interview after the culture test is done.
