Hey guys! A couple quick questions...

My employer won't issue me a Letter of Employment, HR stated it had to be faxed or mailed. Any suggestions on how to get this done so my fiance has my Letter of Employment for her interview?

Also, the updated Letter of Intent...who should this be addressed to? USCIS still, or the Paris Embassy, etc?

On my original G-325A, when I put the address of my employer, I put their corporate headquarters address, not the particular office's address I work out of. Should I keep the same address on the I-134, as what I put on G-325A? Or should I put my office's address...

I wanted to make sure if the embassy needs MY original birth certificate, as the petitioner, or is a copy sufficient? & do I need to provide a police certificate as petitioner...

Just fine tuning details at this point obviously...All I can think of for now...

Thanks!

So I am new to this and maybe I am not the right one to answer, but I will tell you what I plan to do.

I am an independent contractor, so I have no letter of employment to send, just my bank statements, 1099 misc, etc to send. I don't know your particular financial situation, but I am hoping the letter isn't necessary because I have plenty of savings to meet the requirements, and have made enough in 1099's to meet the minimum for the year. I hope that alleviates your concern on this issue.

We are planning to address our updated letter of intent to the embassy.

I personally would keep the same corporate address so as not to confuse the situation further, especially if you decide not to send a letter from your employer.

I am almost positive they will require the original birth certificate. My fiance already has mine, and he will take that to the embassy in his packet when its time.

Well that is all the info I have for you. We aren't as far along as you so I am certainly no expert, but I hope my opinions in these matters make thing easier for you and I didn't just confuse the situation further. Best of luck. We are all rooting for you!

First of all, thank you very much for your response! Regardless of your personal progress thus far in the K-1 process, I was looking for any input, & you responded; merci!

Secondly...a few updates!

My employer ended up providing me a Letter of Employment, stating my position, my hire date, my base salary, etc. The HR person however did not specify full or part time; though I am full time & my earnings from previous years clearly show it, so I am not too worried about that. (also my previous years earnings are substantial enough & the W-2's/1040's show that)

In regards to the address being different on the G-325 & the I-134; I like your advice of just using the same corporate address, though the Letter of Employment I just acquired I'm afraid states my office's address...bittersweet, eh? :bonk:

Again, not too worried: the company letterhead on the Letter of Employment shows the corporate address I put on the G-325...I'll look more & decide which I put on the I-134 but I think they will be able to verify it is indeed just the one company I work for, hopefully with little confusion.

The updated Letter of Intent, yes I addressed to the Embassy; good call.

The birth certificate....yes...I was just about to send her my documents complete, with a copy of my original birth certificate (as the petitioner) but now you have me questioning...

I did discover that I have 2 original birth certificates, & that the embassy will return original documents to you as long as you provide a copy along with it. Now it's tempting to mail both the copy & one of the originals. It is just a piece of paper after all...

Again...THANKS!

Cheers

Hey no problem, glad I could offer a little help and support. My instinct says send in the original. Its just a piece of paper, and a very replaceable one at that. (Better safe than sorry :)) Let us know how it goes, I am very excited for you! GOOD LUCK

Yep, great point...probably sending the original very replaceable piece of paper. Better safe than sorry certainly applies to the K-1 process in general.

We'll let you know, thanks for the excitement, same to you! And good luck as well!
