What do I and my Fiance need to do after she arrives in US on K1 Visa

My Fiance arrived in US 2 weeks ago on K1 visa which is valid for 90 days. I understand that we need to get married within 90 days. However, how do we approach the paperwork, apply for SSN first? Then Driver's License and then Get married and apply for AOS along with Work Permit?

How soon can she get a driver's license? can she before getting married? we are scheduled to get married in 1 month.

In response to the answer: SSN, STATE ID, MARRIED ... I am a little confused. I thought you couldn't just apply for a social security card while you are here on a K-1 Visa, I thought you couldn't get the social security until after your AOS. I could be wrong, but that is what I have heard.

Of course you can, K-1 is entitled to a SSN married or not married.

All you do is wait 2 weeks aprox after entry then go apply for your SSN.

Some SS offices don't know their own rules to its advised by the VJ community to print the rules and bring them with you to show them that you can indeed get your SSN.

Edit to add, I got my ssn after I married my husband using only marriage cert and passport. We didn't file for AOS till after I got my ssn.

You should have been able to because the marriage certificate is proof of name change.

SSN first. Can't get the licence without the SSN, and some states don't permit a licence unless you have the EAD or GC. So look into your state rules. Then marriage. Though she should be able to get the licence/state ID after marriage as well. Again depends on state rules.

We got married four days after arrival on a K1. The next week she applied for her social security card in her married name,(showed the marriage license with the name change and marriage certificate). Here in Georgia they would not allow her to get a drivers license until she got her green card.

It completely depends on the DMV for your state if they allow her to or not.

Every state is different.

I got my DL by switching my Canadian one to an american one and it is valid for longer than my visa/green card is. I was able to do this before I had my green card by using marriage cert/passport/NOA1 from AOS and my previous drivers license. They didn't even look at the NOA1 and just issued it after i took and passed a test on a computer of 30 questions. (though Canada has an agreement with the USA in most states and waives the road test or written test or both.)

You will have to go to your DMV and find out what they will or wont do.

We applied after because its one less name change on a document to do, then I could get my DL in my married name too without having to change that one as well because they would of only issued it in the maiden name on the SSN card.

I got it in the mail about 4 weeks after I applied for it.

Had to call a few times to make sure they were doing their work to get me the SSN.
